Gravity Well effectiveness

So I'm wondering.

Sometimes in STFs I see Gravity Wells that just beautifully pull the Spheres in ISE or KASE together to a point and spin them around until one dies and the warp core breach of it chain kills the rest.

But mine never do that somehow. Mine just sit there and the spheres fly right through. How many points in Graviton Generators do you need to get the proper effect? Or is there something else about it I'm missing.

Chronoton Torps + Torp Spread = Gravity Well that will work

Honestly. Grav Generators does very little to nothing.

I have no graviton generators atm in my build (usually only run three), and I am fine with that. the warpcore breach chainsplosion depends on the dps output mostly. the faster you get one killed, the faster this happens. also if you have grav well 1, that is weaker than grav well 3 in this manner, and your aux power matters too.
also a grav doff can help too, with a secondary grav well spawn

I run with 84 Graviton Generators at 70/25 power and only get that nice spinny effect on occasion. I'll try popping Aux Batteries to see if that makes it more reliable...

    1) 2x GW from two players, thrown at the same enemy
    2) (not confirmed) GW3 + Romulan Singularity Harness

I carry around auxiliary batteries (emergency power to aux if you don't want to use up a device slot) for massive GWs. It's a 150% boost if you hit an aux batt to get the max power before hitting GW... if memory serves.

to be effective you should have 125 aux, and skill both starship particicle generator and starship graviton generator...
However I do not understand the logic in KASE: my GW can stop spheres but not probes!!!!!

I have put 6 points in the graviton generators and there's no problem using GW1. (that's +75, which means that the same effect is achievable with 3 consoles). On my main toon I haven't put any points on GG, but it still works well enough. So...it actually depends on what you want the GW to do. For me it's to slow Neggys and raptors and pull together probes and spheres - with the latter, it's a question of proper timing.
