Returning to STO after 2 Years / PVE Tact Escort Help

So -

Lots of changes and lots to read through.

There used to be a pretty good website that one could refer to when it came to ship builds, I came across the STO Academy and that is helping some.

I was curious if anyone has suggestions for a PVE Tactical Escort build?

I just made LCDR and I want to learn towards DPS.

I got the refit and running the stock stuff, but was curious if there is a good thread that I could read.

    Don't worry about getting all the C-Store ships between Lieutenant and Rear Admiral... getting to max level is relatively fast in this game, and low-level ships are next to useless at high levels.

    If DPS is all you want out of a ship, you won't go wrong with an Escort-based build, since Dual Heavy Cannons are highly-efficient damage-dealing monsters. There are trick builds that use other abilities and weapons to match or beat DHCs in damage output, but DHCs on a Tac/Escort are nearly foolproof as a source of high DPS.
