Shutup Wesley Presents: The First Tier 3 Embassy

wesleycrasherwesleycrasher Member Posts: 117 Arc User
When your favorite fleet wasn't busy policing Drozana, making it safe for your children, they were hard at working building the best damn embassy in Starfleet. Our first mission is to extend that hand of diplomacy to the forums. Behold, the fruits of our labor:

I've already detailed my disappointment with the tier 3 embassy tailor, but I will say the the lobby and OPS at least look gorgeous, see for yourselves:

More details on the final upgrade, the Specialty Consumable Broker, when it finishes tomorrow.

Following a private celebration being held this weekend, invites to the embassy for consoles, boffs, or costumes  are freely available to anyone that can find and ask a Wesley for one.

edit: So I can only assume these are supposed to be the "Specialty Consumables" Since I covered the entire Embassy twice looking for what the upgrade unlocked and only thought to check the bartender last. He has a "Special Foods" tab now. Don't know if he had that before, because why would I even check the bartender in the first place. Anyway, here they are. They cost 2,000 Fleet Credits each and are 1 time use consumables.

Dewan Herbal Life Support Additive
Space Consumable
+2.5 Accuracy for 15min

Isha Moss Extract
Ground Consumable
+2.5 Hitpoint Regen for 15min

Oxygenated Atlai River Water
Ground Consumable
+25 Willpower for 15 minutes

Psionic Resonance Enhancement Cell
Ground Consumable
5% chance to add +6.1 Psionic Damage to ranged attacks for 15min

So there you have it, 3 useless ground consumables and 1 space consumable that would only be useful in pvp, but will no doubt be banned by gentleman's agreement (just like Jevonite and countless broken consoles). So basically enjoy never using these bizarre results of all the dumb grunt work those Romulan scientists made you do.
All the toys you can't afford.

I thought the tailor was the starbase tailor but that there was a project to add a Romulan outfit to his inventory...?

Updated the OP with details on the "Specialty Consumables"

My friends at Sector 31 ANTKB just finished the tier 3 embassy yesterday, and many of us were so jazzed about what those consumables might be. All of us who were on our teamspeak server took a voice vote on which of the final two upgrades we'd run. I was skeptical, and voted for the Romulan tailor, so did the fleet leader. Everyone else wanted the consumables. Sadly, it seems my skepticism was vindicated by the poor quality of these items.

When the project completed just literally a few minutes ago at the time I'm writing this, we couldn't find the new items anywhere. Thanks so much, OP, for revealing where they were (the Pakled chef of all places...in spite of the fact that the project image deceptively shows a well-dressed Caitian male, and we spent ten minutes running all over the embassy looking for him).

Consider the info text on these items as further proof of their half-baked nature. Consider the Dewan Herbal Life Support Additive as an example. What it describes is downright strange and medically unethical...
"The soothing effects of Dewan Herbs have been distilled into a canister that can be hooked into your ship's life support and environmental controls. Pumping this soothing scent into your ship interior will result in a heightened awareness and clarity of mind that translates to faster reflexes in the thick of combat situations. Your bridge crew will be more capable of locking onto fast-moving targets while under the effects of this additive."

So...basically I'm paying 2500 precious fleet credits for a temporary blast of aerosol coffee that my BOFFs breathe and magically makes their shots more accurate? My ship's doctor doesn't object to this either...seriously? Also, when you consider the Isha Moss and the Atlai Water descriptions, it turns out New Romulus is a biomedical researcher's dream come true with no worries of side effects at all regardless of species. This stuff is almost as far-fetched as Star Trek: Insurrection's metaphasic radiation McGuffin from the rings of Bak'u.

Clearly these are PvP items with nonsensical descriptions that reflects the nonsensical nature of PvP in general. I'd rather spend those creds on Mogai or Scimitar support ships, or save them for the elite fleet space weapons we'll be unlocking soon.

Cryptic, why are you spending your limited time and resources developing new items that are obviously intended for PvP when the core fundamentals of PvP are utterly broken in their current state? Hasn't this been said already on countless other forum threads before? Please, please, please consider the needs of your broader audience (PvE) over the louder minority (PvP) when adding new components and game balance changes to the game.

Well, now my fleetmates are working on the tailor. While I don't have much hope for the special Romulan outfit, it will at least be only a one-time cost to purchase.

At least your ship will smell minty and fresh! :D

Congratulations on achieving the Tier 3 Embassy.

But a suggestion..., opening your post with the admission that your fleet harasses other players in the game (no matter how right you may think you are) at Drozana, might not be in the best interest of the continuation of said fleet.

No judgement here... just pointing out how what you've posted can be interpreted.

I read that as: "We stand up to that fleet of dentists." but I guess it could easily be the other way.

Perhaps.. but either way, it's not a wise thing to admit to such actions, when one hasn't got the authority from the game developers to do so.

This is what you're getting into with the the Tailor. ;)

Thanks for that link! Great to see the robes at last, though I wish they would let us dress up in Reman or Romulan military costumes (I'd love to see capes on the Fed side for a change).

Sector 31 ANTKB will unlock the embassy tailor in about 15 hours from the time I post this, so if you want to get the hookup for the robes, just pm one of us in-game and we'll see what we can do. Just remember that many of us are trying to have fun and like to focus on lots of different things that doesn't involve the base or embassy (STFs, PvP, etc.). Our fleet members and activities always take priority first, and some are brand new to the game, or simply AFK, so please don't be rude or upset if the member you contact can't (or doesn't know how to) help you.

I found another member about an hour later who was kind enough to invite me in, Im thinking the other two I found were just busy or getting ready to leave for the night.

I love the senate robes. Thanks again to the member who invited me, Im sorry, but your name ecsapes me.

Also dont get me started on a Fed cape... Ive been coveting the KHG capeon the KDF side (still need to get Omega rep to tier V) I'd love a cape on the KDF side... seriously these robes could have done with one...

They look nice. I was expecting it to be the more basic robes the romulan contact wears in ESD. These are pretty cool.

Did you really need to break Forum rules to make a statement about derailing a long dead thread?
