I wish the wiki had a list. I'd like to know because I need all those particles from critical successes to make a console from the powered alien artifact. I took a few screenshots of the results from some of them, but would like to have them all.
You get particle traces when you crit on the following missions:
20 hr Sector/DH Exploration missions with the word "Artifact"
30min-3hr Sector Science missions with the word "Scan..."
30min-3hr Sector Exploration missions with the word "Analyze..."

I know you get them when you crit on them, but I'm wondering which ones give which rares, since I need a steady supply of different ones for making consoles.

On a similar theme - Blue Astrometrics Doff that gives 60% chance to get more traces + Dilithium mining back to back x 4 characters = 60+ traces in the hour (basicly you are doing the mining twice on each character by leaving it 20hours after you get the mission)
I do a lot of Scaning assignments to get them also and its easy to get 20+ crit, its nice to know the others give rare traces also, allthough 20 hour ones are a bit long lol
I thought specific doff assignment crits give you specific rare particles, for example scan data stream for exobiological data always gets you an anyon, that it's not 2 random type rares each time on a crit.

Ah, you mean the bynars? Yes, I have some of them, but isn't scanning for them in exploration clusters a lot slower than getting them, through doff assignments? I don't dil mine for dil anymore, as I know a much faster way to make it.
Dil mining on the asteroid doesn't get you any rares, unless you mean the data samples you can scan on the asteroid

I'm pretty sure it's random... But feel free to make a chart.
Speaking of the Astrometric doff for bonus rare particles, do they work on doff assignments like the "Scan..." and "Analyze..." ones? I didn't see any difference in rare particles from crits, so I went back to my trusty Transwarp doff.

i don't think so, AFAIK it's only when dil mining.
I only run the 20h Exploration ones, and I get a steady stream of all 10 particle traces.
I bet all those assignments have a chance to get each of the particle traces on a crit.
Sometimes you get a strange alien artifact too. But they do take 20 hours to complete, the ones which take from 30 min to 3 hours to complete are faster. How many of the 20 hour ones can you run at a time? I'd think, given how slow it is, it would take quite a while for you to get every particle trace.

You can do both simultaneously. Besides, if you log in only once a day it doesn't matter how long the assignment is.
I usually get all my rares from Dil mining (800+ usually net me some blues) and always send my purple/blue DoFF for local scan (so at least around 25% crit chance)

25% yes, if they have both critical traits and the normal success profession.

Put one of the new astrometrics DOffs on duty, and you may get 2 traces, depending how much the RNG likes you.
Already done. Spent about a month doing it. You're right, it's random.

Please review my campaign and I'll return the favor.

I'm confused by that. I've got one but it's a space doff. So if I slot it on my active space roster it works when I mine dil?
