We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
ST.25.20130128a.28

General:
  • Resolved an issue with the Andorian ships? shields.
    • They no longer have greatly diminished Shield Health.
    • They now gain the correct, higher, values from self-healing and shield healing skills.
  • Kumari Wing Cannons are now able to be discarded.

Hopefully this will go live quickly.

I also hope that someone with the ship can transfer it to Tribble to do a test.

I sure hope people aren't going to have to wait a week for that to get pushed to Holodeck and that your internal team is putting in some overtime to test this so we don't have more bugs that shouldn't actually make it to Holodeck!

What I can't understand, is why, if so many times a new ship is introduced and has problems right away, that new ships are not released FIRST on Tribble on the free console. So, like, just maybe, some TESTING could be done there on the TEST SERVER.

It just seems that it would be the sensible thing to do.

Because then, if they are for some reason trying to keep the new ship hush hush, people will go and blab about it on Holodeck, thus ruining the surprise of the unexpected ship. But I agree, release the ship to tribble so we can test it out first. These kinds of things would be less likely to happen then.

Hush hush...and then they post about it on the news of the main page a day or two ahead of release. Some surprise.

Anymore, it seems that something hits Tribble at most a day ahead of Holodeck. Not much time for testing anyway.

Besides, if a new ship is flawless and good (yeah, riiight), letting the few people who actually come to Tribble see it and then talk about it in the Holodeck community would generate more interest.

This line of reasoning seems to only make sense if they don't want people going from Tribble to Holodeck and talking about the flaws of a new ship or item, not its virtues.

The sad thing is, we have this discussion every single time a c-store ship comes out. They don't bother sending it out on holodeck because it will "spoil the surprise." Even though for a week, it's all the website can talk about. Concept art in the screenshot gallery(am I the only one who sees the irony in putting everything but screenshots in the screenshot gallery?), a dev blog announcing the release date for the ship. The dev blog the very next day to list all the stats about the ship and to tell you how much money you're about to throw at your screen. Then the release of the ship, and since it was never TESTED, it's broken the first day, causing nothing but griefing to the point where they have to repatch the same day. It's sad, really. If they had just released the cursed thing to tribble the day they put the pictures in the screenshot gallery, we'd never have this issue.

I don't know, but it's possible they're estimating that fewer people will buy it if they get a free test run on Tribble first.

Any time you're selling a product where a sample is going to make people LESS likely to buy it, you're running a scam.

If there's a lack of things to patch. May I suggest actually putting in some effort to fix the many missing textures onder DirectX 11 and DirectX 9 and the tons of clipping issues with various costumes under both as well.
