    Delvok,

I'm gonna be as frank as possible, based on my beliefs, and you should take this as a learning experience rather than an offense. I saw over 50 people look at your post from the time I looked at it myself around 9:30pm EST, and realized why no one out of the hundreds of thousands of people in the STO community did not reply since the morning. Simple put.... No one is going to hold your hand and just GIVE you a build they probably worked hard on, experimented with, troubleshot, and probably exchanged their own FULL ideas with others in-game and on this forum to compare notes. Sure a build can be found out there somewhere on the net or this forum, but you are not really learning anything by asking for other people's ideas, basically getting a freebie.

You want help? Well here's a tip. Help yourself first, and go through all the above mentioned trials. When you come up with something whether its TRIBBLE or not then POST your build here on the forum, and maybe someone will get back to you, if yor lucky cause they will all remember the person who asked for a handout in this post. :(

That's a rather rude opinion and comment. Someone new ask for help being courteous and giving them a nudge in the right direction is the polite thing to do.

I'm fairly new myself but this is my science build as far as skills go but with weapons, well, I favor the Romulan style of disruptors and plasma torpedoes. When it comes to choosing consoles make sure you get those that compliment your bridge officers. Look them over, ask someone on zone chat or better join a fleet; which is probably the best way of getting help.

Here's my skill build link so far:

    Congrats,

This person has learned nothing on his/her own. There is the PvE discussion forum, to post threads like this there. I believe I already 'nudged' this person to try experiment on his/her own, that's how most is us learn, same as myself.

I call this luck that someone gave you a freebie

I'm in agreement with the sentiment that ship builds are best figured out by players themselves, rather than asking for pre-mades or hints.

When I first started playing, I had the simplistic notion that I wanted the Intrepid-class, simply for its looks. Similarly, I rolled a Tac toon under the assumption that it was the only way I was allowed to wear the canon red uniform for typical Starfleet captains. Sounds silly now, but that was how it was.

I also limited myself to Phasers arrays and Photon torps at the start because of "canon", although I eventually upgraded my torps to Quantum (greater burst damage with a small increase in cooldown). At one stage I had Plasma mines, as I quite liked DoT fire that wears at the hull.

I flew the free Odyssey for a few months when the 2nd Anniversary mission came out - I wasn't particularly good at tanking, and the monster turned like a brick, but I appreciated the extra weapons slots. In the meantime, I was making a bit of a scene on the forums complaining that the Intrepid didn't have enough Tac BOff power slots

Eventually, I sat down one afternoon and decided that if I wanted to fly my favorite ship but be reasonably decent, I needed to think seriously about my consoles, BOff powers and gear. So I bit the bullet, did lots of Zen surveys and bought myself an Intrepid-R.

I won't divulge details of my current build, since you (the OP) should learn to find what works best for you by yourself, but right now I have a good mix of canon, Tac firepower, Sci heals and abilities. It's nowhere close the optimal super-dooper-PvP-mega-killer-god-winner-of the-world-pwns-all-forever setup certain elitists swear by, but I do a fair amount of damage and die few enough times in ISE STFs to make my time in STO feel worthwhile.

Try googling the "Hilbert guide" or looking in the Federation Shipyards subsection as this is the wrong place for that kind of advice, which is probably why you've not received many replies.
