Tier 5 Akira

Now before you say 'We have the Armitage", let me say that I don't want a carrier.

I applaud the devs' efforts in answering the call for a tier 5 heavy escort, but I would love to have a ship with the same boff and console setup as the Advanced Escort, but with the Akira skin.

The Akira is just a damn fine looking ship, and it's a shame I can't rock it at Vice Admiral using the play style i prefer.

    get in line with everyone else who wants their favorite ship to play the way they want it to play.

    I personally would have liked the Akira to be what the Excelsior/Fleet Excelsior is since it's big, but it got the Escort card, which I'm okay with because it is to big to be pure escort, so I'm ok with the Carrier/escort.

    The Armitage gives up nothing for its hangar - its hull and shields are in line with other 9 console escorts, same slots everywhere. They were a free boost, so if you don't use fighters you're literally only bringing yourself down in line with other escorts.

    Fair enough, but the Boffs are completely locked in. Many of the other Tier 5 ships include universal Boff slots which allow for better customization.

    I'm surprised they've not yet released an Engineering version of the Akira to be honest. It's been mentioned a few times about having broadside weapons; knowing that the Akira (supposedly) has broadside torpedo bays, this would have been perfect. x3 fore, x2 broadside, x3 aft. The Assault Cruiser (Z-Store) has the weapons, just need to give them to the Akira.

    And as long as it's last year, add some carriers for Feds!
