You.............want a ship that looks like a flying TRIBBLE.
I always thought it looked more like a giant Pine Cone.
So, we have a primary ship, what is going to be the weapon (or weapon equivalent) reward pack? What would go into the C-store? What's the theme of this lockbox?
Would this tin man have 5 tac consoles and a turn rate of 19?
IF SO SIGN ME UP BABY!
No, but it would have the unique ability to send every enemy vessel flying off the map.
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

Hey now everyone, the special effects at the time were pretty bad. Clearly what we need is a rock, shaped like a pinecone, with glowing tron like details reminiscent of both cybernetics and lava.
Just an idea, but I was watching TNG episode with the Tin Man and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Tin Man Lockbox.
There are millions of ships like Tin Man missing in action, both factions could find some.
They could have a Tin Man variant ship as well, maybe a larger cruiser verison.
What other thematic stuff could they put in this lockbox that would fit this theme?
Already was joking about a "Gomtuu-Lockbox" ... because someday soonish they're gonna run out of "reasonable" Ships to put in Lockboxes .. guess it wasn't a joke ...
Wasn't he supposed to be the last of his kind, with everyone else dead and he was trying to commit suicide to join them? Isn't that why it ran off with that mentally unstable betazoid?
If only Photonic Shockwave was really that powerful, able to take out Warbirds in a single shot. That would make it worthwhile.
Last of his kind as far as he knew. And if he found any others when the crazy betazoid helped him over his depression he'd take them to friendly space, in other words back to the federation, to find more pilots.
KDF would naturally try to intercept them, and convince them to side with their cause. Letheans would be sent to mind link and explain the situation, and likely win them over.
I'd love a "Where are they now?" sequel episode with Gomtuu. I'd hate to see players owning their own Gomtuu. That'd just be dumb because Gomtuu became tragically unique in the universe. They're not making any living spaceships anymore.
I'd personally like a defend mission where you have to defend a Tin Man from the Tal'Shiar. That'd be fun. Or perhaps, have a mission where the original Tin Man and Tam Elbron return.
Cryptic doesn't need any more help or support for the lock box scheme system.

The episode doesn't say thier dead, it says Tin Man hasn't seen them in a very long time, that they maybe extinct is Tam's speculation, its not estabished as fact. Exploring what did happen to Tin Man's race will be interesting.
Quick thought: a Tin Man entity as a random encounter, a la the random encounters in the Tau Dewa block.
It doesn't even have to do anything, really. It would just be cool to see more random elements like those, especially on the fringes of known space, where things should be a little more strange...
See also: random encounters in the Fallout games, especially the older ones, and in other sci-fi games like Escape Velocity.
I was surprised when they used the Gekli as a fluidic space vessel. The Tin Man vessel seems like a much better choice, seeing as it was obviously made to be a vessel, whereas there was no indication the Gekli were vessels (from what I recall).
Don't get me wrong; I was pumped to see Gekli, but Tin Man would have been perfect for that.

We have a few scripts lying around for a mission related to this species, but that is about it.
