These new mirror ships are awesome, gives the chance for people to get the new look of a ship while keeping the same bridge officer layout, or getting a new boff layout and staying wit the same look.
Today I noticed that when I buy a mirror ship I can use the mirror hull material on the non mirror ship version as well.
Would be even better if I could change the U.S.S. to I.S.S. on the non mirror ship as well.
and if anyone wants to support it, why not throw in the mirror universe terran empire symbol for the mirror ships too.

"But Serenity, that would take away the purspose o fthe lock box mirror ships!
Actually it wouldn't. The lock box ships have the layout of their counterparts. The M.V.A.M for example. The prime universe had more of a sci build to it and therefore I personally didn't use it much if at all. However the mirror version have the eng build to it and I've bought it for my eng and 3 tac officers.
By adding the skins to the cstore would just be pure profit for cryptic. I've seen a lot ppl ask for mirror skins. Personally, it would also lead me to buy more cstore ships just to have mirror skins on them...
Two meowrs! to this post from the kittymomo brigade! I loves the idea, just got the patrol escort mirror, talk about beautiful monster!
Fret not, I fly a Temporal Destroyer and suffice it to say... Its the cat's meow. Lol
As history has shown, we are closer to the mirror universe than Roddenberry's vision so why pretend otherwise...just look how bitchy people can be in game.

Mirror universe ships I currently own and fly regularly:
1) Deep Space Science Vessel
2) Star Cruiser
3) Patrol Escort
4) Qin Heavy Raptor
5) Vo'quv
The Vo'quv actually popped out of a box for me (on my second one no less... yay lottery ), but I purchased the other 4 from the exchange for a combined ~1.25 million EC. Needless to say, I'm a big fan both of the concept and the implementation, a view shared by many of my fleetmates on both sides of the aisle. They all bring something a little different to the experience of playing the game.
To be fair, even in the Star Trek universe life was pretty miserable on Earth through most of the 21st century.
Regarding the OP's suggestion, I don't see why not. It's not like we can really complain about immersion any more, not with all these Jem'Hadar and Tholian ships flying around.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I prefer the Mirror KDF ships to the Mirror Fed ships. They're actually new ships (with the same kitbash). Along the lines of Feds already having Assault/Star, Advanced/Patrol, and DSSV/RSV - the KDF didn't. Qin and Mirror Qin, Vor'cha Retrofit and Mirror Vor'cha, and now the Vo'quv and Mirror Vo'quv. The change in BOFF layouts (and even consoles for the Vo'quv) change the flavor of the ship. For me personally, the Mirror layouts are better than the originals. So yes, I definitely prefer the Mirror KDF ships to the Mirror Fed ships.
As for the Mirror Fed ships, well - they're cheap alternatives to pick up off the Exchange instead of spending Dil. I actually prefer the Assault kitbash and layout to the Star kitbash/layout...but a Star kit/Assault layout's cheaper on the Exchange than buying an Assault/Assault from the shipyard. Likewise, I prefer the RSV kit/layout to the DSSV. Still though, the DSSV layout's not that bad and that I can run it with the RSV kit is nifty. But I'd rather run a RSV/RSV. With Escorts though, I prefer the Advanced layout...but hate the Advanced kitbash. Can't stand it. Being able to run an Advanced layout with the Patrol kit is definitely great. Patrol layout/Advanced kit...not going to happen. Advanced layout/Patrol kit - best thing to happen to Mirror Fed ships, imo...so a definite thank you to Cryptic for that.
I'm curious what they'll do with the Mirror Defiant - different BOFF layout, no cloak, and the skin. I'm also curious what they'll do with the Mirror Negh'Var - get rid of that En, right? Am I right?
If they made a Mirror Defiant, that would imply they would also make a Mirror Galaxy and Mirror Intrepid, as they are at the same tier. And these would all be pointless as they share the same layouts as their primes, which at Captain level, are quite inferior.
It's not just about the Feds. /cough
Why, in the Mirror Universe, Captains have complete autonomy as to where their ship goes, and what missions they pursue (and how they go about it), with only the rewards for what accomplishing those missions bring the Captain personally really keeping them in line. Captains have wide latitude with their crews, able to promote or demote Officers at will and even determine their postings on the ship (or if that Officer even continues to exist past their replacement), on personal whim. Uniform standards are lose (and often provocative) mainly determined by the wishes of the Captain, and most planets of the Empire won't even allow a Starfleet ship to enter their system unless it has a mission there. And the fighting....fighting, everywhere! Ships shooting at each other, sometimes just for fun!
Now, if that was what this game was all about, then of course people would want more Mirror Universe ships, because we'd be playing -IN- the Mirror Universe, and it would be the Federation ships that would seem strange, with classes that appeared far too streamlined and almost works of art rather than fighting ships. Of course, we'd also have the Tholians of our universe abducting ships from adjacent Universes for study, and probably have missions to go and free them.......
Yes, good thing we know exactly where we are in this game. Otherwise, we might have to worry about a Mirror Borg fleet, and who knows what -that- might look like? I can only imagine what would have happened if the Voyager Six probe carried the Imperial message to their planet....
So, no need for more Mirror Universe ships. What we need are more proper Starfleet ships, with the correct gold markings, not all these strange, pale hulls that keep popping up around here....
Got a little off topic, me the op, is not asking for more mirror ships.
I am hoping cryptic will allow the I.S.S. prefix and mirror universe terran empire symbol to be used on the regular ship once the mirror universe ship counter part is obtained.
The current mirror universe ships them selves are not able to use the terran empire symbol, which is kind of silly because why would the mirror universe empire paint federation logos on their ships?
and just in case ( I don't want to start a rage / arguement over more mirror ships )
This post is in no way meant to be offensive towards the quoted posts above nor is it supposed to be an attempt to "internet slap someone."
^this^ = what STO should be. :P
*Nudges poopbang* Psst. It is. Just don't let anyone else guess, or they'll take away our dilithium and loot rewards! Maybe expect us to actually do this stuff for charity, and I got my eye on one of them new ships!
*goes to check his hold to see what his Duty Officers have managed to make for him while he's been busy....*
