I'm guessing that has something to do with the Federation not using this particular technology.

Umm no, they used basic Tricobalt devices, they did not use bio neural warheads.

One, because it's not the kind of technology the Feds would use.

Two, it's a KDF exclusive and should remain so. We get some of those too, you know? It's not all about the Feds.

    Seriously, that part.

It's existence seems to be a simple act of cruelty. It needs minimal intelligence and gains nothing by being sentient - other unmanned devices exist that duplicate its functions without sentient AI. It is brought into existence only to die. It's as if the only reason for it to be sentient is that conventional warfare just isn't cruel enough for some people. Those people need to know that their bullets are dying, too. Because.

What he said. Besides, think about it. Why would the Federation use tech like that? It's basically death on impulse engines. Feds are supposed to be more civilized. The KDF on the other hand is not above using something like that to get the job done, because let's face it, it's brutal, it's cruel, it's disgusting, but by GOD it's effective.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Why does the KDF has something I can't use on my FED toon? I call foulplay! This has to stop!

Or, you know, make a KDF char. If you want one thing the other side has... play the other side instead of demanding everything is copied in blue. It's not that KDF content is something exclusive you couldn't access by creating a klingon toon for free.

True, but the Humans of the the Star Trek reality have moved past such barbaric pratices that make a mockery of thier ideals about the rights of sentient life, no matter how evolved.

Klingons have a different view on artificial life it seems and see the minds that control the Bio-Nueral missles as only simple software.

It needs to remain a KDF only weapon. In fact I think its our only KDF specific torpedo while the feds have at least two they call thier own.

The bio nural warhead was being fired at voyager (voy ep human error) seven of nine analysed it 4 times so starfleet should of learned about the bio nural warhead to fight the klingion empire

Just because they might know how it works and how to fight it doesn't mean that they themselves would employ it.

I don't remember that warhead having anything to do with the Klingons.

It had *EDIT CORRECTION: biogenic* weapons, not bioneural.

Also "Warship Voyager" was supposedly armed with "Photonic Torpedoes" and had a crew of 300, a Borg Assault Squad...and did you forget the entire thing was a totally fake propaganda history made up centuries after the show?

    Fetching puppy missile ftw

    LOL

Seriously though, the Russians actually tried that during WWII. It was called the dog bomb, and was devised as a means of destroying enemy tanks. It worked sort of. Look it up.

This. Really. Embrace the KDF for those things they have that the Feds don't. You might have fun.

    Someone actually watched that show!
I loved that show as a kid! Still do.

    Anywhooo . . .

First off, his name is Darwn - Ensign Darwin. And second, no, he wasn't. Captain Bridger found him caught in a fishermen's net. He trained Darwin to place scientific equipment on the seafloor. He just used him to tag Captain Stark's boat with a sonar marker in the pilot episode.

I'd say there's a decent chance that a future lockbox will include a cross-faction torpedo pack, from which Feds get the Bioneural and KDF get the wide-angle.

    @futurepastnow

and with that said I expect to see that lockbox either as season 7 releases or very shortly thereafter.... but they are gonna have to come up with an amazing ship to put in there too... like oh I dont know the Jem'hadar Dreadnought ? maybe the Romulan Bird of Prey/Warbird ??? who knows

and thuse another distinctly unique thing from the KDF will dissapear.....
    Major Xi'Zzin
    I.R.W. Raptor's Claw
Storm Eagle Class Warbird Fleet Ha'feh

lol, what a totally useless weapon.

    And a totally old thread.

Anyhow didn't voyager fire something like this at the Undine to help the borg defeat the first enemy they ever truly feared?

I fire it all the time since i like the way it looks and I get 965 damage to ring up... big whopdedo...

The kittymomo brigade is not impressed. Take it from our sigh and bring us milk and cookies!

I loved the Bio-Neural Warhead until today's Tricobalt update. I'm ok with the update in general, but the Bio-Neural Warhead seems to have its damage halved but not the cooldown. This is a serious problem, in my view, and I hope it is fixed quickly.

That fact would be a valid one, assuming that the artificial intelligence in question is on the same level as a Positronic Brain such as what is inside of Data mk1, Lore, and B4 (though B4's brain is a bit lower level than Data and Lore's Brains). However from what I am gathering the Bio-Neural A.I. is probably just a basic Intelligence program installed with enough software to allow it to perform tactical maneuvers on it's own while operating weaponry and activating an arming sequence. Nothing so advanced as to have higher reasoning capacity or emotions. However as we all know, Star Trek Artificial Intelligence is a Crapshoot.
