Lockbox ships have 10 console slots while the Armitage has only 9. So the lockbox ship wins by default. The question would be more difficult to answer if you compared the Mobius to a Fleet Armitage however since that version closes the gap...
Armitage:
Pros:
+ C-store version can be distributed to all your alts
+ Cheaper than the Mobius (overall)
+ Torpedo console is fun to use
+ Plays like a patrol escort, which means it's durable
+ 5 skins, including Akira and Thunderchild (Heavy Escort Refit)
+ Pets!
+ Elite Rommie pets are BEAST at damage, Runabouts good for tractor, Debuffs
+ Fleet version has higher hull than mobius
+ More crew
+ Bigger
+ More power to weapons
Cons:
- Just 9 consoles (unless Fleet)
- Fleet version costs extra, is character-only, and with just a 10% boost to hull/shields, is just a plain upgrade
- No universal boffs
- Less durable than Mobius
- Useless ensign tac slot
Mobius:
Pros:
+ 10 Consoles
+ Better Boff slots (useless tac replaced by eng)
+ Universal boffs are very flexible, can be even tankier than Armitage if use Ltc consoles for Eng.
+ Unique look
+ Unique Bridge
+ Bonus if used with Temporal Warfare Set and/or Wells console
+ Mirror Univ. ship, so can use ISS prefix
+ Relatively rare
Cons:
- Character-bound only
- Lockbox/Lobi ship = rare/expensive
- No interior access (do everything from bridge)
- smaller crew
- less hull than Fleet HEC or Steamrunner or Bug
- Doesn't benefit as much from Temporal Warfare Set (Both DBB and torp not ideal on an escort)
- Using its unique console while in heavy combat is tantamount to SUICIDE
- Still not as good as the Bug (is that really something we need to say anymore?)
- Less durable than Mobius maybe for you, but my build keeps EPS3 and EPTA1 up permanently, giving me strong shields and 3 heals buffed by my aux. and gets over 120% defense bonus with recall mode doffs. no other escort can get def bonus that high and use EPTS3 besides jem heavy escort carrier
- Useless ensign tac slot useless for you, but not for me and others that use torps. Torps can be very valuable in pvp once you get the hang of timing them, it almost always is what kills my targets. even TS1 is really strong when it hits hull, and helps clear spam too, which is more common now in pvp
I think the Fleet Armitage is much better then a Mobius, it has better dps and survivablity, and the different pets make it versatile as well. The Mobius is more of a escort sci ship hybrid and is better at supporting with sci skills and dps.
The z-store Armitage is ok, but ships really need 10 console slots now to fit in nice universal consoles and still have room for a armor console and field generator.

1. Wait, if you use the mobius' LtC Universal for Eng you can do the EPTS3/EPTA1 thing, at least. Also I meant the C-store armitage (not fleet) was less durable based on raw hull numbers.
2. Fair enough, but in PVE you're usually better off mounting 4 cannons than a 3+torp IMO.

Wouldn't that be a pro, rather than a con? I would much rather have access to all of my crew from a console, rather than having to run around the entire ship.

Depends on your perspective. Some folks like to run around their interiors and set trophies etc.
But yes, for the endgame player it's probably a plus.
wow thxs for the replies, pretty interesting did'nt think one extra console slot couls be so important!
it should be noted that I'm not in a fleet so i could only get the C-store version.
Well there you go. If that's the case then the Mobius is categorically better than the Armitage, in raw numbers, and unless you're interested in having pets.
THAT SAID, you'll do FINE in either ship unless you're obsessed with PVP or Elite STFs. So long as you pay attention to your build and some basic rules of thumb you'll carry your weight in 90% of the game's content.
Owning both, id choose to pilot my Armitage over the Mobius anyday.
What is a useless ensign tac slot to some, it can be useful to others (myself included) depending on your build.

In pve switching the quantum out for Romuloan plasma torp and with 3 purple doffs you can do the endless plasma torp spam thing which is also great for dps.

Pesky Feds, always acting like they own the whole galaxy.

Fleet ships are for the hardcore.
