I like the idea of it but having to do it 5 times it takes it from fun to grind. If you have multiple toons...
Why not 1 time?
Why not 2 or 3 times?
Cryptic have some table somewhere that says how much grindiness is needed to earn 500 Dil?

The 'Party Box'. Since there's no info about what's in it, I assume it's all vendor TRIBBLE.

Yes, yes, I know, no one is forcing people to do the mission, but geez, why does it always have to be a grind-fest? :(

STO is a grinder above almost all else, have to give it credit though, lotsa ships and opportunities with those grinds.

You might get lucky with the party box, but I agree it's likely to be vendor junk most of the time from what I've heard. The safe pick is the dilithium if you want to bother with the mission. I've only ran it once per character myself for the party devices.

I have a lowspec. computer setup, so if I set the viewing distance just right, the giftboxes loses a corner and it's rather easy to see parts of the party goer sticking out:D

Personally, I am taking the party poppers. The ones from the first anniversary are going for 5 -15 million EC.

I did it once per character for the party popper, mostly 'cause it's a one-time reward. However, unlike the free ships that will likely just sit in my banks, I am sure I will find time to enjoy leaving balloons everywhere.

As to the mission itself, it was boring immediately after the first time on the first character. Thankfully it's not as mean as it could be about hiding the swaps.

It was cute the first time, but there are less tedious ways to get ~500 dil (SB24). After getting the popper, I haven't made a point of doing it. Worst thing is when mini Q starts getting tricky on you, and does it several times in a row, so you wind up needing to play it 10 times instead of 5. At that point I really could have made better use of my time in SB24.

Personally I don't find it that bad of a grind. Word to the wise - stand behind the boxes. Mini-Q tends to clip through the back, and inadvertently tip you off to where he is.

The party box tends to be junk, though, I agree... I've gotten 3 or 4 now, and the best thing I've gotten out of them has been 5 Shield/Weapon boosters. The dil is the safe bet.
