Sovereign class problem.

david90532david90532 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Hi guys, first post here :)

I just got my sovereign class the day before yesterday, and was surprised to see that it had this awesome looking teal-green honeycomb pattern on a lot of the ship. It looked really cool. Today I bought some new parts for it, and when i beamed up to my ship, it looked normal. Just the default grey skin. Any idea what changed it? Did my parts change how it looked? thanks!

Sounds like you had the reman shields equipped, then replaced them.

You likely hid the visuals of your Space Set.

That was it, thanks! I'll probably put those shields on one of my lower tier ships though, they seem a bit under powered for the sovereign.

Are there any other shields in the game that change how a ship looks?

All of the set shields do this, except the Breen one I think.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

all the "Special" shields, normal ones like "Shield Array" "Covariant Shield array" and "regenerative" shields do nothing of the sorts.

Is there a list of these "Special Shields" anywhere?

Summed up effects of the set shields:

MACO: Shiny hull with extra details and small hexagonal pattern
    Omega: Yellow and Brown tint
Borg: Lots of small assimilated detail on hull
    Aegis: Blue neon lines
Jem Hadar: Purple patches and detail
    Reman: Bright teal hexagonal pattern
Romulan: Dull green patches and bright green lines
    KHG: Brown and orange detail
    Breen: No changes

Also the veteran skin probably counts, which looks like a dull version of Aegis with more lines

I think that the MACO hull design is the Aegis' shield pattern.

The Vet Skin looks kind of like ablative armor on some ships while on other it looks bright like the Aegis. The Aegis Set on the Armored Skin just looks... strange.

You get most of the fancy stuff by advancing your Reputation, an alternate advancement system for Level 50 players. Aegis is either crafted or bought for several million EC a piece on the Exchange.

Indeed. Aegis is the quickest to nab if you have the Materials or the EC. It happens to be my favorite with its Adapt To Incoming Fire and +10% Defense While Moving abilities. I just wish there was a MK XII version.

You can replay the mission (Coliseum) to get a new Reman Shield Array scaled up to your current rank if you want. :)

I thought you got the Breen set and the Jem'Hadar set, simply by doing the Featured Episodes?

Breen and Jem Hadar Mk XI sets are from missions in the Breen and Dominion episodes respectively.
Jem Hadar Mk XII set through upgraing Mk XI set with a lobi store item.
Reman shield can be gained from Colosseum and the whole set is from the Romulan reputation.
Romulan set also from the Romulan reputation.
Borg, MACO (federation), KHG (klingon), Omega, Adapted (all marks) from the Omega reputation
Aegis from crafting or can be purchased on the exchange.

    Too add to that:

Ferengi and Temporal Sets are purchased from the Lobi Store
