duty officer assignments

I'm a level 50 player with a question about the duty officer assignments. I completed 20 assignments way back when and since then I have not gotten any more assigment slots.
I have a small icon on the different assignments that say I don't have enough assignment
points. I kept waiting hoping it would unlock at the next level but it never did.
What are the assignment points and how can I earn them?
Thanks to anyone who could advise me on what to do.

    Normally you have only the 20 Duty Officer assignments slots to play with throughout - there are a few exceptions such as the Fleet Embassy where you can get a few more.

    Some assignments such as Sick Bay and the Temporal Bacon....mmmbacon...ahem Beacon dont count towards the 20 limit

    I am not sure exactly what your problem is, but I'm assuming that you completed 20 assignments and didn't collect their rewards

    When your assignments are marked as completed you need to double-click on them so you will get their rewards and free the assignment slot for a new assignment

    Normally you have only 20 assignment slots, which means that you can do 20 assignments at the same time, but when an assignment is completed and you turn it in, the slot is freed for a new assignment.
