I'm looking at the stats for this, can I put more than 1 on a ship or is it like the borg kenetic beam where its 1 per ship?

As part of a set, it's limit 1.

Since it is part of a set, then one per ship.

too bad. The part of a set thing is starting to annoy me. I'd love to stick a few of these or a few of the borg beams on a ship even if I don't get the bonus of the set. too bad the set bonus can't be updated to only apply a bonus if diferent parts of the set are on the ship.

They do not drain weapon power. They would be OP if not unique. Imagine a 8beam ship with no power drain....
Still, look at the bright side, you can have 7beams on your ship, and have the power drain of 6 of them. That's pretty good IMO.

I would have liked more per ship solely because I'm a sucker for plasma. Oh well. I'll just have to settle for one of these and some "standard" Rommie beam arrays from the Rep store (once I unlock them, of course).

Yes I agree a ship load of these drawing no power would be very over powered, but I wouldn't mind if as with consoles having diminishing returns, the beams do as well as far as drain if you use more than one. I have thought for a long time now that the size of the firing arc of beams should depend more on the ship type and not the beam itself. Weapon placement should effect the firing arc, not the weapon itself.
