I read somewhere that it made no difference anyway... not sure myself...

If I had to guess it's because the doff system can't take into account the new magazine mechanic and it wasn't working right anyway. I'd have to parse it, but I'm pretty sure my PWOs were sitting on their hands with my omega torpedo equipped. I kinda had a hunch, that's why asked in another thread.

kind of a bummer. i was gonna make my intrepid retro sci a torp boat with two omegas and the breen cluster torpedo. Just have to use fleet protons now.

Cause people were apparently using it to create romulan torpedo spam. In STFs, a few times I saw a constant stream of plasma torpedoes heading toward a gateway or cube. PvE is all fine and good to have these little tricks that harm no one IMO. However, in PvP it causes immense grief. Its kind of hard to deal with 20 plasma torpedoes coming toward you.

Use the omega torpedo and the romulan torpedo. I don't have the romulan torpedo yet (3 more days) but I've heard the two together do very well.

The breen cluster build is designed to get the CD on the cluster torpedo down as much as possible. Your other torpedos arn't really there for the damage, just to fire as fast as you can, so you have greater chances procing your projectile boffs, and lowering the CD on the breen cluster torpedo. Great thing about the torpedo boat, is you get that cluster hitting every 15-20 seconds, plus you can jack your AUX up all the way, making your sci abilities hit like a truck. All the will you are crapping torpedos every second or so, with that breen cluster hitting for minimum 20k every 15-25 seconds or so. Especially on a intrepid retro, its a great build. Being able to run that ship with full aux, its an absolute monster to pop.....

That the Omega Launcher no longer procs Projectile DOFFS is not a nerf.

Before when the proc happened, the launcher reset in a way that no torpedo was actually launched. Probably because the firing rate is so fast. I've had strings of like 5 pseudo launches in a row which did nothing, before I spotted it.

Projectile DOFFS doing nothing is an improvement over the previous state. On top of that the damage of this launcher is limited by it's growth of charges which isn't affected by DOFFS (yet).

    tl;dr It's not a nerf. It's a fix for a harmful bug.

this, same happened to me...it looked like a stream of soap bubble coming out of my front that bursted instantly. i took the projectile doff out...fixed it for me.

but it is also true, that if you had omega and romulan torps equipped...the omega triggered the short torp cd for the romulan torp, resulting in an endless hy plasma torp stream.

so effectively the combination of the 2 torpedos got nerfed.
    Go pro or go home

False launches happened even without PWO DOFFs...
Much like Hyper spam could happen even without an Omega...

It's a nerf because now you can't use the Omega as a secondary torpedo to achieve shorter refire rates for longer CD projectile weapons via Projectile Doffs.

You're still able to do that without Omega torps.
