If you can have any ship in the game for a Tactical Officer what would it be and how would you build it i.e equipment, weapons and consoles.

There is no single best, the mva, tac escort retrofit and hec are all unique in their abilities as TRIBBLE as favoring a sub class(lt com sci, eng or tac) that gives them a varied playstyle, there are some however that should probably be avoided at all costs (the aquarius I just can't find a place for)

Get the Jem'hadar attack ship if you have the 300 million EC

I'm also a fan of the Steamrunner from steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/9908/?snr=1_702_7__13
And it's still 50% off right now

Thanks for the reply. I also like the Steamer and MVA but run into problems with the layout.
Any reccomendations would be much appreciated.

Layout problems with the mva? You have to skill into and use that lt. Comm science offensively, flow capacitors with a energy siphon 2 combined with a few points in graviton generators for tractor beam 2 with a tractor doff(shield drain) polaron dhcs and chroniton torpedoes can really cripple a single target in pvp and destroy it rather quickly

This thread has some great Steamrunner advise, the OPs build is very similar to my Eng Steamrunner. but should also work well with a Tac

Geez, I wish I had known about this ship before purchasing the Defiant retrofit. For just under 13$ your getting over 34000 hull, that is more than even the Tier III fleet Defiant!

Thanks for posting the link to how to build one of these ships as well! Admittedly it wouldn't be something I would use on a day to day basis but as a PVP ship I am thinking it could be comparable to the bug ship.... (and better looking too).

Between both ship I think the Steam Runner is a bit better. I can PVP and PVE well in both ships. Building a ship take alot of tweaking and knowledge of the Doffs and Skilling also.

SO far most agree that the best ships for a Tac is an Escort. I guess I'll go with that and start building them. Thanks....

My vote goes to the Breen Chel Grett Warship. It has the turn rate of an escort, 8 weapon slots, 36k base hull, and a universal ensign slot for you to play with. Best of all, it's free if you've been doing your holiday daily winter race. Its energy dissipator console is just icing on the cake.

Got the Breen Ship also and I've started to play with it. It's to new to review it yet. But agree that it has potential.
