Request - Winter Coats for Off Duty

redlead3rredlead3r Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I think that the new Winter Coats can make good combinations with items in the "Off Duty" category, but right now the coats can only be used in "Uniforms" category.

Can any dev please make them usable in both categories?

    Any explanations as to why?

I know for myself, I am perfectly happy with the coats. With the addition of the Jupiter trousers (Jupiter 5 for me), it is a perfect match. I used to equip my Fed with a brown and black robe, with the Mercenary Set. But with the addition of the Holiday Coat and the Jupiter trousers, to be perfectly honest, I may never again change back to Off-Duty.
I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

Why not get rid of the off-dudy designation altogether?

While I do hope they eventually eliminate the off-duty category altogether, in the meantime, I agree that the winter coats should probably be placed in both categories. That would give us the most clothing options.

Or how about no meantime, and we just get rid of the off-duty designation?

Would be nice. Then my KDF could use the Merc set.

I can see why you would want them in both categories, but if they had to pick just one (which they have) then the uniform category is best because it means your BOFFs can wear them too. :)

Let's just get rid of the Off Duty designation altogether already! Solve everything!

I agree with the "get rid of the off duty category" comments. I never use it since its options are so limited and I can already build better looking civvy outfits by creatively recoloring on-duty parts anyway. Just fold the "off duty" clothes into the the general uniform options, and let people use any odd costume slot as an "off duty" outfit as they please.

I think the one change I'd like to make to the Winter Coat is to be able to put a combadge on them. Then the beam out animation won't look so daft. :p

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

For some reason I was able to get the comm badge on the outside of my tac toon's black coat but none of the others. I would like to see the comm badges be available on the outside of the coats for all variations too.

It's now available for off duty.
It looks good with the merc set.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I would like the ability of foundry authors and the devs could set locations where it would auto-switch the outfit to the different outfit setups as dictated by the story. The story has you bumming around in your quarters while off-duty then have the game auto dress you in off-duty clothes. and have uniform variants for different environments you beam down to. say your wearing an Antares uniform and you beam down to Andor. Andor is a pretty cold so auto winter variant. beam down to risa then a warm weather variant. that would add more to draw you into the story.

So I'm all for keeping the off duty set, but just let you use off duty in any of the uniform slots.

Other then the first costume slot which is suppose to be a uniform (since starfleet officers on-duty would normally wear a uniform) all other uniform slots you either buy or earn (via mostly veteran rewards) can be either off duty or uniform already.

Problem with that is you're going to have a lot of players (like me) who don't use the designated "off duty" clothing for their (de facto) off duty outfits. I've got off duty outfits, but the game doesn't know that because I used uniform pieces. I can't manually flag an outfit as off-duty without being forcibly restricted to the (super-limited) designated off duty pieces.

I love the idea of a auto-switching feature for foundry authors, but it'd be a better implementation IMO to fold the off duty and uniform sets together as "general clothing" and make only the slots flaggable as off duty or not.
