There's a Foundry mission for KDF where you end up going forward in time and you can talk to this teenage NPC and every dialog box has a "Hit him." option.

What's the name? I wish to play this.

As for the alcohol... First: Some alcoholic drinks (at least according to 21st Century medicine) can be good for you. My doctor once "prescribed" red wine to me because I've a history of Heart Condition in my family. I've read other reports that talk about beer and whiskey as having various medicinal benefits as well. Then there's the use of medical marajuana... But we know Trek Future is a world where dialysis is barbarism and doctors have pills that grow new kidneys, so of course our current methods will all be snake oil then.
I'm sure the benefits from red wine are from the other things in it, not the alcohol.

The only "medical" benefit alcoholic drinks have on you is that they suppress neural transmitters involving social anxiety, stress and other negative feelings, but they also affect other positive things, too.

But alcohol itself has medial uses. A story from New Zealand where a man after drinking Vodka for several hours lost his sight. He was taken to ICU and found that his body was metabolizing the methanol and creating formaldehyde which was poisoning him. The treating me is using medicine grade alcohol. But the hospital was out for a hospital working went out and bought a bottle of Johnnie Walker. Which they feed to him via feeding tube in the ICU. And there is a new treatment for thickened heart tissue. The treatment is injecting alcohol directly into the heart rather than use risky open heart surgery.

It's the 23rd Century not the 19th, alcohol wouldn't be used as a "nerve tonic".

Well all I got to say is.. If they ever add Turpentine I will quit!! When I was a kid I would fall and scrape my knee and try to hide it from my Grandmother. The pain from the Turpentine was far worse than any scrape.

Flip side it could be funny to have a Turpentine Hypo. Your toon would double over in pain as his health bar goes up!

I'm not annoyed by the nerve tonic itself - she basically saw ghosts pop up out of nowhere and eat people's souls, so it's understandable that she's a bit rattled.

No, the part that's annoying is that she won't take it if it's in the wrong cup! "Oh no, I can't drink my booze out of something as ugly as that!"

I was shocked when the KDF character just rolled with it. I was expecting there to be an option for my character to just slug her or steal her stuff.

And in the grand scheme of things; nobody gives a damn!

It was a nice change of pace from 'go from here to there killing everything on the way' like most missions.

You can call people cowards, be a general ******* and watch Feds cower in fear (literally) at your awesomeness.

Best KDF mission in the game.

Yeah, it's not like TOS ever had Alcohol.
Except for the huge list of Canon alcohols on Memory Alpha I guess. :P

Sarcasm? You can't really tell on a computer. Remember, Scotty once passed out drunk from drinking something green "We later learned it was Aldeberan Whisky". Scotty also scolded a bartender for giving him synthahol instead of real Scotch Whisky. It makes sense that Scotty would think of alcohol as a remedy and that he would have an encyclopedic knowledge of alcohol. He certainly had enough of it in his quarters.

Personally, this part of the mission was terrible.... I wish there had been an option to shoot her where she stood. However, had it been a case whereby you had to drink with Scotty, last man/woman standing kinda thing before he shares some sort of secret to getting through the mission, well not only would that have been canon but imagine how funny it could have been. Especially with Scotty ranting on about Spock or Kirk and how wonderful his grand lady, the Enterprise is... Scotty was always a fun character and this mission missed a great opportunity imho.

Humans have been drinking alcohol for thousands of years.

Why would that change any time soon?
