PvP queue times

Hi there,

just came back after 2 1/2 years of not playing, and to be honest, I've been enjoying the game a ton!

However one of the main things that determines whether or not I stay in an MMO is pvp and how easily accessible it is. I love me some pve, but my friends and I regularly run a 4 man pvp group in all the MMOs we play when we get bored of pve.

So far I have sat in queues for 30+ minutes before giving up and going to play ToR or RIFT. Is this normal? Is it an off day? Is there a time of day people pvp more?

I mean, theres TONS of people on, 36 instances of ESD and multiple of a lot of others....

whats goin on D:

I usually queue for PVP once in a blue moon if and when I can get a team together. Even then when that happens my friends are I are doing private matches. I suspect most others do the same.

I PvP frequently and the main time I notice that I have to wait in queues for that long is around 7pm UTC/GMT +10. I guess that is when a large portion of the playerbase is asleep in some other timezone. It's kind of a bummer cause it's prime time for play where I am but there's not much that can be done about it.

Maybe ask in OPvP for players to queue up at those times, and the ones who are online, add them as friends so you know of other players who PvP at that time :)

I think the queues may be a bit bugged atm. Sometimes they just aren't popping despite appearing to be full. Normally that doesn't happen.

    Hm.

Well I hope it picks up :(

I am honestly having a blast with the PvE content, and a lot has been done to make this game more enjoyable since launch. I was questing and chatting to my friends, telling em all how they should come play! Even got three of them to download it and hop on, they were enjoying it as well.

Then we queued for pvp....and after today we all went back to SWTOR :(

I am the only one of the 4 of us that will likely still log in to just check now every once in a while. It's a real bummer.

The general issue with PvP is that basically only FvF space arena and c&h at VA level start somewhat fast. The remaining queues (ground, FvK, lower levels) have insanely long waiting times.

friday's and weekend it's ok at lvl 50.

this will change, when they add the Fleet Marks reward for PVPing as they announced..

also, it sometimes helps shouting in Zone channel/DOFFJOBS channel/EliteSTF channel -

looking for soome coward Fed's which are not scared to face me in the arena

queue for PVP and face your death - several times

= some of the best matches i did achieve with these lines :D

When I was leaving, the waiting time in VA queues in my timezone: GMT+1 was at nights (8-10PM) was above two hours. If I had luck, I was getting 1 fight in the time I schedulded to play STO. With lot of luck - 2 fights, at least one being C&H, mostly FvF. FvK is quite dead.

In the same time, lower level (cmdr-RA) PvP queues were not starting at all - those were dead. I was once sitting for 6 hours (7PM-2AM) and not single fight started. Neither Arena nor C&H. I suppose it is still alive, even if dying, with Klinks leveling and so, but if you are Europe and simmilar timezones, you need a LOT of luck to get a match.

PvP below cmdr level is dead.

I do not know if anything changed sine S7 launch (at this time I left, more or less) but I doubt it got any better.

I don't have any trouble getting a space pvp match within a few minutes of queuing at VA 50. Ground pvp can take longer, because the population is smaller. There really isn't much pvp going on in the lower levels, probably because leveling in STO is so fast. Primetime is the eight hours or so bracketing 10pm Eastern Time.

at the moment it is normal, most matches end like 15-0 or 30-0, and who would want to reque after a horrible defeat like that, and also with all the cheese gear and skills we have now most people don't reque for that fact.
and sometimes some people put others down for dieing,
How does it feel to die from the worst player in Star Trek Online
You Suck, Why do you even Play this game
so why would you want to reque when you get put down

None of 'em were OPvPers I bet. They were probably weekend warrior PvEers who think they are PvPers.

My queues are not usually that bad, I am on GMT though so maybe that is why.

Pre 50 queues are terrible, post 50 they are maybe 10-20 minutes for me on average, usually quicker when I queue for both. It does happen though that when a team is completely obliterated they tend not to queue again for a little while, so it takes a bit of time for the queue to build back up. If its a closer game, you get several in a row :).

The last couple times I tried to PvP, I wound up in queue for +3-4 hours... and still never got into a match. If it had only been a 30 minute wait I wouldn't have minded... could've at least gotten my Dil for 3 slog-fests. ah well...

how about waiting in a que for 3 - 4 + hrs and when it does pop and go in, the match is over in 3 mins with a score of 0 - 15

    YEP THIS GAME IS BALLENCED

You think you have it bad? I just returned and started a new toon. Had rainy sunday, so spent around 12-14 hours in STO (with breaks for eating and the opposite). Got one arena at lt.cmdr, none at cmdr. The oposite for C&H: none for lt.cmdr, 1 for cmdr. So it's 1 match per 6 hours waiting time. In this time I jumped three levels with PvE.

Results were pretty balanced: got kicked once, won once. So nothing against balance. but that was low level PvP.
