Are Starship requistions free? I recently earned the rank of Commander and would love a new Starship. How do I do so?

You get one free starship of every tier. This means yes, you will get one free at the Commander Level. You will also get one at the Captain Level, and Rear Admiral Level. You do not get one at Vice Admiral as those are C-Store ships, and part of the fifth tier. Simply complete the little rank up mission, go to Starship Requisitions and buy your new ship for 1 EC. There are no refunds.

Go to Starship requisitions, speak to Lt. Laurel I think. Pick the ship you like, and buy.

Down the turbo lift in the shipyard (earth space dock)
go down to lower level of area you arrive in.
Lady in the corner (long hair , human looks a bit like beverly crusher)

Then up the stairs talk to the man with the gold/yellow ship floating above his head to set your new ship as current.

Custom options are the other man near to him

    Hope that helps.

Done that. Still no Starship. Do I need Cryptic points? What mission do I need to complete in order to collect. I also noticed I have a req from my promotion as Lt Comm as well. Still trying to figure the game out. I love killing Borg and the Klingons!!!!! Am waiting to do the Section 31 missions. My son bought this game for me for Christmas and I waited for the Freebie in Jan. I give the game two thumbs up!!!

You need to first complete the promotion mission from Admiral Quin to receive the free ship token each time you rank up. Go talk to him in his office on ESD, click through the promotion dialogue, and you'll receive your free ship token. Do this each time you've ranked up until VA to claim your next tier ship.

When I get a new ship, what does this mean to my old ship? Is it recycled? Do I get points for it? Dilithium even? All I know is I bought a new ship, and my last ship went poof! Is there a way I can keep more than 1 ship?:confused:

You still have your old ship(s). You need to go back to the shipyard and choose to change your current ship to another one that you already own.

    Hi Guys

I am at a Vice Admiral level and trying my best to get my hands on a Hangar Peregine Fighter to complete that god-forsaken Romulan Reputation mission. I read the posts here but I am not seeing an option to buy the blue version of the hangar peregrines from the ship selection menu. All of the ships there are dilithium only and the hangar peregrines are not even an option.

I bought the purple rare peregrines from the dilithium equipment officer but, of course, that didn't work.

I have tried both the ship selection officers at ESD and DS9 and am just not seeing ANY ships available for purchase via Energy Credits.

Any advice would be greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Seems like you need a ship with an hangar to buy the blue peregrines.

You don't get the hangar peregine figher from the ship vendor. But from the items vendor ;-)

I bought the Purple Quality fighters from the items vendor but can't find the blue. Which category would they be under?

I have a ship with a hanger, the Thunderchild refit. In fact, I took the purple Peregrines and am now using them on it.

Another other suggestions would be very helpful.

You don't buy hanger items from the Ship Vendor. You buy them from the Ship Equipment vendor. Check there.

Level 50 says it gives you the ability to get another ship however as soon as hubby leveled up he received no requisition for another ship. What happened? Thank you.

It says you have "Permission to buy next rank of ship."

Previous levels say "New Ship" and "Permission to buy next rank of ship." The difference there is that the level 50 rank up doesn't say anything about giving you a free new ship. You're just allowed to use certain ships that you weren't allowed to before, but you still have to obtain them yourself.

(Unless you have the 600 day Veteran reward, in which case you can choose a free retrofit ship from the following list: Tactical Escort Retrofit, Exploration Cruiser Retrofit, or Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit for Federation, or similar list for Klingons - I always picked the B'rel Bird-of-Prey Retrofit so I can't remember what the other choices are.)

Thank you very very much for the explanation. We truly had thought we found a game glitch lol
