Purchasable Hanger bays

I am currently in the Odyssey, i can launch a pretty ineffective escort or separate my saucer section as well as deploy worker bees, but not both at the same time. Yet hanger ships can launch 2 squads from each hanger so this dosnt seem fair or logical i cant launch evn one shuttles as standard and can only launch one of my two assets at an time even though my ship is the flagship design. if i had even one hanger bay as standard it would help balance it out when fighting carrier ships rather than me either havin to do the vault mission for scorpion fighters, buying master keys to open lock boxes or buy them off the exchange and using up device slots, it also dosnt make sense that smaller ships have carrier abilities yet the biggest federation ship is with out this ability...

    God yes I'd love this, lemme put some delta flyers on my D'kora so while they're stripping shields my plasma is cooking them from within.

    If the Odyssey were able to launch It's Escort, Seperate It's saucer and deploy worker bees it would be what most people refer to as OP. Carriers trade off the ability to launch multiple pets because they are gimped by having a slow turn rate and less weaponry.

    Personally I think there is to much NPC spam in this game already. Between Danubes tractor beams, Bio neaural war heads etc.

    You aren't a carrier.

    Get over yourself.
    Also you want ti talk about turn rate ... the Kar'Fi have a higher turn rate that several cruisers (exactly the same as the the Assault Cruiser) and it have two hangers, it also have just one less weapon slot.

    We're Feds. Give us something equal to everything the Klingons have. They deserve nothing unique.

    Hmm, it good if we can launch runabouts, shuttles or delta flyers but fighters? no, it might make our starship into a carrier. I agree with the purchaseable hanger bay like we got with scorpion fighters from the mission ' The Vault'. It would be great if we can purchase from starship equipment vendors

    There already IS consumable fighters you can get out of a lockbox. They are used only a few times, and that's all. There's also the Scorpion Fighter consumable you can get out of The Vault mission.

    We don't need purchasable hanger bays.

    Having in-built shuttle based abilities though, I could see happening on cruisers and the like. Such as a Boarding Party 3 you can activate the same way you'd use Subsystem Targeting on a Sci ship. That kind of thing I wouldn't mind, but actual hangar bays like that, there's enough ships with hangars in the game. Or a kind of 'summon fighter wing' as a Cmdr level engineering slot, which would bring in some Peregrines for 30 seconds or so, they'd fight for a bit, shoot off a few torpedoes, and warp away.
    I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
    I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

    id just like to make it clear i dont want every ship to be a carrier but some of the larger ships or VA/Fleet ships should have at least a hanger bay option for one fighter pet and to keep carriers special they could launch 4 ships rather than 3 maybe even give the option for a suicide run for extra damage. in my opinion they have restricted the federation a little to much when compared to the killingons. and their are ways it could be done to be in keeping with the current style of contribution building tasks. or failing a shinny new hanger bay for my ship just a place or a tweak to a rom rep mission where i can go buy some consumable fighters with out having to go the exchange or that vault mission.

    The way i think of it,

    A Cruiser's shuttles are auxiliary craft, and are piloted by people who are not battle trained, shuttles that are available on more aggressive ships, flight deck cruisers/carriers are specifically trained to fly in combat situations,

    Shuttles in my eyes are for away missions and offering assistance to vessels with tractor beam tows,

    But they again, this is sto, and its almost like the devs watched too much DS9 where the federation started to use *cannon fodder* i mean.. small fighters VS BIG ships >.>'

    your right when you say this is greedy to a point mainly because their are ways to do what i want with out the bay it would just make it less of a hasstle to lost squads but the escort for the oddessy is very weak for what it is and iv seen just one squad supporting it can make the difference

    Lol restricted the federation a little to much compared to the kdf? I'd like to know what your on to think that.
