Whats the best way to level up a new character?

djf021djf021 Member Posts: 1,382 Arc User
Hello captains,
I've had a level 50 character for almost a year, but for the first time, I've opened a couple of new characters. My question is: what's the best (and/or fastest) way to level up those characters? I would like to avoid running the BORING story missions again if possible, especially the early Klingon ones. Any advice?

Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

I do the enemy signal contacts quite alot and the Mirror universe event. That helps me quite alot.

Mirror invasion event is worth a lot of xp. You can make 1lvl per mission, and you should be able to do 2 and more per hour. Doffing is good for xp to, and you can do that while playing something else. However, the dil cost they added recently is a pain.
I suggest to run the story mission you like, and skip the one you dislike, then use mirror event for XP in between. If you don't like any story mission, do the patrol missions.

Best way to level up? Play the game. Have fun doing it.

Just keep speed running the Mirror incursion PvE mission. Don't activate the virus, destroy the Stadi, get your award, and leave the map. Then immediately queue up another run. Rinse and repeat for the event hour.

That said, why hurry? Character leveling goes so fast between regular play and Doffing you can hit 50 it short order. Just enjoy the trip. No rush.

I've only been playing for a few months but my first toon hit 50 in about 7 days pretty much just using the pve queue as soon as it was available and doing as many mirror events as possible.

My second toon made 50 in 5 days doing nothing but the episodes (doing a pve queue only when needed to level up to be able to get the next episode mission).

Of course I am semi retired and have nothing better to do with my time but still, the over all game hours to level up isn't all that great.

Just mix it up and have fun.

when i'm lvling new toons (have 12 now) i tend to do it slowly, as a nice addition to my normal gameplay - so DOFFing, and here and there a mission.. there are some i enjoy doing..

there is also foundry and the winter event..

Before F2P, I used some foundry missions that gave a ton of XP and a lot of drops in a rush to beat the axe.

Now, since F2P, it is so quick to level, especially Klingons, that I usually just play the storyline missions. Each rank takes about an hour playing on normal

If you prefer other missions, like fleet actions or PvP, do those, although PvP can be hard to gear up for when you are progressing so fast, as you do since F2P.

I bet I could level up a toon in 12 hours doing just storyline missions.

This has consistently been the fastest way I've found. But as pointed out above, the Mirror event helps a lot too.

Also, doing a patrol or two on your way to a mission doesn't hurt. They generally don't take too long and give a decent amount of exp.

The patrol missions also provide a good chunk of XP. I got one of my alts up several levels by flying around each sector and patrolling every system with the option.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

The best way is to let your doffs do it for you.

LOL my 4th and final character I recently leveled up to 50. Starting around level 14 I leveled him up almost entirely from doff assignments. Took a while though. :P
