What do you think of the change to the exchange? Is it improved? I'm not feeling it (particularly since it's still borked, it just has a new filter layout). Are you?
I'll sell you some weapons from New Romulus. Never fired, only dropped once.
Would be impressed with the new filters if they worked. I clicked on Tac DOFFs and it opened up the other options chose Con Officers and I got everything but Con Officers.
I notice that 'all' is still wonky as well. I searched ground warfare specs for Lokarene, found one. I know there's more than one. Under all it returned only one, at a different price, so not the same one.

It's still far from a good UI, but it's a step toward the good direction. Now they need mroe filter, and remove the bugs we have. And add an "inventory item" filter.
I wish they would put a feature that would allow you to check price - ascending - decending - or something so that after 400 items we can see or sell items in bulk.
Zone chat is always full of bulk sellers because they can't sell things on the exchange when you have 400 items for 10k ec - you will never see 100 for $1 million
Personally I like it, I hated having a massive list to scroll through, the principal is sound. However, the implementation has let them down again. It doesn't actually work reliably, a lot of things don't show up where they are supposed to and the Holiday commodities STILL aren't in the commodities section. This is annoying as hell as I've a lot of them I want to sell and I can't because they don't show up reliably in the 'all' tab.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!
I asked Branflakes that via twitter hours ago, when the forums were still down, and all he said was "*shrug*".
I can only imagine that sometime in the future, like the one in the 2800 seroes, that gear Recipes will start showing up. Whether it's a step toward a crafting revamp, which Geko said was not happening soon, OR it's will be for New things that will soon be craftable.

^ This, 1 Million times this!
By the time we will be able to list them, the event will be long over.
Anyone know what category the holiday junk falls under? I can only find them under "ALL," and the stuff I put up for sale well under the prices shown, and they don't sell, nor do they show on the list.
I was chatting with someone earlier that could not see keys. I walked him through the process of filtering and still he could not see them. I ended up buying one for him and trading it to him for the price I paid. Please tell me that's a fluke. It had to be user error somehow right?

It is pointless posting new items because it never shows them correctly. I put some of the new Romulan Research Datachips up well below all the other prices but I couldn't see my own on there. They were up for a week and then suddenly all sold.. this wasn't after any patch. What changed? Something suddenly made them visible I guess and someone saw a bargain?

its kinda dumb that with all the changes they been making to the exchange you still cant search for faction only boffs and doffs..
on my kdf guy i have to go through 5 pages of fed doffs to find one kdf one
[12:35] Vessel Two of Two Unimatrix 01 deals 225232 (271723) Plasma Damage to you with Plasma Lance.
[12:44] Vessel One of Two Unimatrix 01 deals 1019527 (1157678) Kinetic Damage to you with Plasma Energy Bolt Explosion.

They should be under 'commodities', but they aren't. Even when they said they were going to fix that two weeks ago. By the time we can sell them reliably, the event will be done and no one will want them.

This^^
It's happened to me when I was new to the game and I've seen it happen to others. Buying a doff for the wrong faction and wondering why we can't use it for an assignment when the doff qualifies for it.
The problem is only common (white) doffs we can tell the difference easily. The portrait has a red or blue outline around it to indicate faction. But uncommon (green) or better quality has the color of the rarity around the portrait. People say "look at the insignia behind the doff's head in the picture" but some doffs heads take up most of the picture and it's hard to see which insignia is behind them.
What I would like to see is doffs having their names or specialty indicate rarity and keep the red/blue outline around the portrait regardless of rarity, kinda like what they did with bridge officers with the season 7 launch allowing us to see what rarity a commissioned boff is. (Though it is clearly easy to tell what rarity a doff is in the doff UI, but this would help in the exchange)

You can search for them properly if you use 'all' with the rarity filter. Have you tried searching under reward packs?
the exchange really should include the handle of the person selling something
That would be nice only if we can get a new feature added to the exchange to 'favorite' a particular seller. The seller would be able to see how many players have put them on their favorite list, but not see which players (to avoid players being harassed for unfavoriting them)
If we see a seller with good prices we could favorite them and check back later to see if they are selling something we need/want. For those players who purposely overprice stuff for the sake of ripping people off, they would have an even harder time selling because a system like this would actually create competition. Sellers lowering prices to get on buyer's favorite list. It shouldn't have much of an effect on hard to come by items that are expensive. Really rare stuff is always going to cost a lot.

If this becomes a possibility, I'd like the option of opening player shops on ds9 that we can use the foundry with to decorate a small 'shop' instance. This can be done on the other social maps as well (I'm guessing). Bazaar stalls on Drozana maybe?

There was no scrolling for me 99% of the time, because I made my window big enough so that everything showed except for the DOFFs. Now I have to do a bunch of extra clicking, with no way around it. Of course it wouldn't be nearly as important if the "All" category worked right.
It still sucks as usual, mainly in the changes people have said need to be made in this thread as we all know. I really enjoyed taking down my 30 terran holiday ornaments ONE AT A TIME, (ever hear of shift or control click to select multiple items?) or that I can't reprice my item or even compare my posted item to the same item without typing the full name
It's not a bad change, but it doesn't do much to excite me.
There is 1 change that would make me very happy though.
Faction filter. Clicking though 15 pages of Federation Refugees just to find 1 Klingon Refugee is extremely annoying. Give me a working faction filter and I'll never complain about the Exchange again.

It takes a few days for stuff to show up under ALL. That's why the Xmas stuff didn't show up for a few days until after the even started.
If you search under a specific category you get all the items available. The "All" category only lists older stuff. Because if you search for a specific category you get more hits so you usually see cheaper items.
The more expensive items eventually find their way to the "all" category and often that's when they sell. Because folks don't know the "quirks" of the exchange. I've sold a few DS9 costume packs for 1 Mil once they hit the "all" category because they were too lazy search the Reward pack catagory and find cheaper ones.

I can only imagine that sometime in the future, like the one in the 2800 seroes, that gear Recipes will start showing up. Whether it's a step toward a crafting revamp, which Geko said was not happening soon, OR it's will be for New things that will soon be craftable.
Its got to be for the eventual crafting revamp. Either that or there is some new type of gear that hasn't been rolled out yet.
The new arrangement of the categories is otherwise fine, but when you switch to the sell tab then back to buy, the active category will be reset to the first sub-category in the current list.
So, if you're selling ship weapons, the type will change to deflectors every time you tab-switch so you have to manually set it back to weapons all the time.
Comments
Most people don't sell or buy "0" items.
Default it to "1" instead of how many are in inventory.

On my Fed Toon I have to skip over 5 - 6 pages of KDF Doffs to find any Fed Doffs so it must be faction specific in at least that way.
