STO Economics

Before I go on 2 words : Mayan Calender ... I am alive. Ok to the point : Someone did actully say that the mayan calander does not nesseraily mean destruction of the world but downfall of the world - IE: Economical faliure - I would like to change that too , end of some STO economics as we know it. People are going to buy loads of Zen beacuse of the discount now in place. The Zen to Dilithium conversion rate is going to plummit AGAIN ... but it will be sooo low . CRYTPIC, DONT YOU SEE? THIS IS LOSING YOU MONEY!
This is how
Zen is dirt cheap now (via conversion and cheaper via real life) , with an 5 STF gushing out about 60 zen , another 5 and a master key is born. People dont need to buy zen to get a key, but just do 10 STFs

Going back to STO econmics : The key value will go down (beacuse Zen is dirt cheap , and cheaper in real life), making people, who need money and cannot be bothered to get and sell stuff (like ... me) , not get Zen to buy Keys. It also means Dithlium is getting really hard to get. Cryptic / PWE , listen out, you need to "reset" some things*, beacuse things are going out of hand. And there are more repocussions, which I wont go through. ANYONE ELSE SEEING MY POINT OF VIEW?

*Maybe to start with , all zen costs 140 ... or something.
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

I hope STO get's better ...

it's not actually that they are producing something and need to transport it and sell it like normal goods, they take some time to make one thing and ctrl-paste it to everyone who pays for it. Zen needs to be bought to be sold on the exchange and dilithium needs to be gained by playing to be traded to zen, if everyone suddenly stops buying zen as you think so, the price for it will go sky high because there won't be enough of it on the market - this is how economics work.

question for you, would you rather pay once for a cd with music or pay every time you want to play a single track? the music industry would like the second one but it's not going to happen

what you're forgetting is the fact that you can only refine 8k dil a day,
a cheaper zen to dilithium conversion doenst hurt cryptic at all, people just buy more zen for all the dilithium they need. sry bout your luck though mate, fire up a couple new toons.

..and when the 'Dominion' Lockbox comes out, you'll see the exchange rate spike. It ebbs and flows by supply and demand.

As for the Mayans... they were a people who knew a lot more about the cosmos than they probably had any natural right to, but this really isn't the proper board to be bringing it up in.

A lot of people said a lot of stuff about that calendar that wasn't true.

This is the fallacy of your whole argument: someone does in fact buy a key with zen for every key that hits the exchange. And there is an ample supply of keys on the exchange.
