Could we get an UI element to let us know how many fighters we have out and their health status please? The things are so small, they get lost in large battles and it is hard to know if they are ok or need to be relaunched or not.
YEah I don't think there is one. I would love to have this for any ship that can create pets.
Oddy witht he Aquarius, MVAE, Carriers.
THough the Carrier one would have to be a count rather than a line of HP/shield indicators and dedicated Carriers can have 12 pets out at once, that's a LOT of clutter.
I would love this as well. Champions has one so i dont see why STO shouldn't steal it for the pets here either. Personally i wouldn't mind getting some kind of fighter like control over the MVAE or Saucer as well, some times those things are not the smartest.
Thats all I want! Just some dots for pete sake!. make the dots cycle from green to red as they get closer to death. Have the red ones de-cycle when you press the launch key, replacing them with fresh fighters.
We definitely need more status panels. One for pets is a given; a slim shield/hull bar would be fine, or something even simpler than that. Some representation of the pet type would be helpful, too, if you're usuing multiple at once.
Another panel for mission-specific ships would be nice, too, such as for STF's.
Simply put: more info, please. All the data is there. It shouldn't be hard to write a panel around it. =/
A pet status panel is sorely needed. I rarely ever have a clue what as to what my fighters are up to or how they are doing and pretty much just spam launch them as soon as the CD is up in heavier battles.
I don't recommend activating brackets for fighters. Once you get into fights with carriers your screen starts to look like a mess.
Try Options > HUD, scroll down to 'Your Officers.' There are tabs there listed as 'Your Mine and Fighter Names,' Your Mine and Fighter Life,' and 'Your Mine and Fighter Reticles.' Try ticking them from 'Targeted' to 'Always,' and see if that works for you. I don't have a carrier currently, or I'd try it myself. If it does, you won't get a neat UI, but you'll at least get a visual life bar and be able to pick them out on the screen.
As an Odyssey/Bortasq' owner, I've taken to using the "Set Focus" function to pin my pet's status to my UI. This only works for a single pet, but works well for my purposes.
I use the video options to have my pets show names.
This is useful except when:
Set to "fire on my target", they all cluster up and 3 names are in "perfect overlap".
They fly out of my cone of vision, I frequently have them blasting generators while I'm watching the gateway for probes.
They scatter all over creation in intercept mode against 2 flight deck carriers in a Gorn fleet action
Dots, numbers, something would greatly help me know the status of my squadrons. I can't think of a single modern carrier that isn't getting updates of it's fighters and know what they are doing/up to...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

During 5 man missions its kinda hard keeping control of how many hangarbay flyers are still alive and where they are.
Except right after a Borg Cube dies, every single Bird of Prey will be one shot of the explosion.

For the sake of the community, if you agree with this, please post so that this can get some attention and a fix.

This would be perfect.
