launcher problem 2

I've opened another thread because my error its different from the one already mentioned.

Since this morning I get this message whenever i try to start the game: "the patchclient got a message while it was in a state with no response function".

The game was working just fine last night and i've never had any problems with it, I've never changed any of the setting in the option menu of the launcher.

Please help me to fix this quickly. Thank you

I've submitted a ticked but i've got no faith in it...

    I had the same error, and found the solution here :

    which was to download the new launcher from here:
    http://files.startrekonline.com/launcher/Star%20Trek%20Online.exe

    Same as OP, but the new launcher is no different.

    The last two times this happened to me, I used launcher files shared by fellow forum members to correct the problem. The first time it worked instantly. The second time I tried 4 different launcher files before it finally worked. The one that was just shared here worked for me this time on the first shot.

    I don't know what's up but it's incredibly obnoxious.

    [Edit] I wasn't paying attention when I downloaded it but once I took a second look I was pleasantly surprised to see that Cryptic was actually sharing the file. I would have killed for that kind of support the last time when it took several days and help from others to get back up and running.

    nope. I downloaded the file. But I still get the message "trying to update the launcher - please be patient" followed by the error window after some time : "The patchclient got a message while it was in a state with mo response function"...
    and that is it.
    Must I say how frustrating it is?
    And downloading the whole game does not sound like a great idea to me cause ot takes over 15h hours for me.

    So what can I do?

    try deleting the .patch directory in the startekonline/live directory. That will forced the launcher to restart it patching attempt again from scratch.

    I one of the files there gets corrupted the launcher will always hang on that point.

    It worked for me when I got that message and hopefully it will work for you.
