I thought you had to have no dignity to even apply? Oh, nevermind, I'm thinking of class...
Hey we have class. Hell, our mascot has a beer and a cigar in each hand...ok so about as classy as a drunken Italian at a Wednesday night poker game...

Actually, you need to register AND fill a joining application. Then you have to keep visiting your application to answer questions and banter with the Unrepentant members until you are accepted or rejected. Unrepentant isn't just a fleet for STO, it is a gaming group with branches in many games.
The entire process is designed to make sure the rest of the group that doesn't play STO gets to know you, to test your commitment to join us, to prove that you can actually interact with others socially and to ensure that you are not a complete and utter jerk. And it works very well, we barely have any drama, at all.
Its not that big a deal... you wouldn't want a bunch of idiots joining into your group, would you? Thats why we do this... weed out the idiots, and end up with the people who fit in. If you don't want to talk to us, have a nice day.
Anyone pick up a new ship during the ship sale? I would love to visit any new ships and help with the christening party. The smell might not be the same, but that is what airlocks are for, right?
The "cost" is that I have to play the game to get it? I like playing the game. That's why I play it. If I didn't like playing the game, I wouldn't play the game.
