Suggestion Regarding Chodak

rweningerrweninger Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I always was fascinated on Star Trek - A Final Unity. It was the best Star Trek Game I played - regarding Story.

Therefore, I would love to see that the Chodak would help the Federation against the Iconian Empire in future. It would be nice to have the Chodaks added because of the following Reasons

-) Scientific Missions (which were very rare and if present not very interesting)
-) Add a better Star Trek feeling to the game. (Lets face it ... the current game is about space and ground battles only)
-) Very deep and new Lore
-) Cool new Designs
-) Possible Iconian and Chodak Space Sets like the Borg ones
-) Epic Unknown Chodak Tech

I love Star Trek Online, but this would be a great addition. I can work out details, but before I do this I would like to hear about your ideas. And I know, that even if this would get considered, it wouldn't be added anytime soon.

And do we even know who bombed the Iconian Homeworld? I didnt read the books, but I dont think so. Please correct me if I am wrong. :-)

I am sorry if my english isn't very well. It is not my primary language.

I guess it is only a matter of buying the rights. They also did this with the Vesta Class.

It took them a year to secure all the needed permissions.
And that was from companies that don't produce computer games themselves, meaning they are not actual competitors.

A Final Unity is my all time favourite trek game, and the one that feels most like Trek. As such, I've incorperated the Chodak, or at least an offshoot, in my Foundry mission, and intend to conclude it with alot more Chodak-ness some day.

As for official stuff, I doubt we'll see it. And if they were in it, I highly doubt they would be like the Chodak we know and love.

A Romulan Strike Team, Missing Farmers and an ancient base on a Klingon Border world. But what connects them? Find out in my First Foundary mission: 'The Jeroan Farmer Escapade'

We can only hope. And I doubt that getting the License will be too hard. Spectrum Holobyte and MicroProse doesnt exist anymore as Studio. The Brand was bought by Atari. Atari never made a Star Trek Game. So they arent a competitor in the same Genre. So I guess it would be possible but though it would take some time, of course.

I simply would wish to get more Trek feeling into this game. And with ST:AFU's Story it would be quite easy. Also getting all the old Races into a single big picture is more interesting then seeing the Iconians alone.

And the Unity Device is still out there. And as far as I know Brodnack always tried to hunt down the Rebels. So who knows what Brodnack or the remaining Chodak Empire are up to. Maybe Cryptic will tell us! :-)
