Rep weapon set

My friend just got his second cutting beam. I have another on the way too. He found out that you can only use 1 cutting beam per ship, like the lobi store weapon sets. I just wanted everyone else that might be curious to know not to waste their time and dilithium hoping to make a cutting beam boat. I'm positive the same goes for the torpedo as well.

    There really should be a "Unique - One per ship" label on those items... :rolleyes:

    I was thinking the same thing. I know in a competing MMO, items you can only equip one of are labeled as unique. Would you really want a cutting beam boat though? I keep hearing about how they do very little damage to shields so you would have to have something else to take them out first.

    well my thoughts from a sciemce ship perspective would be IF I could fit 2 cutting beams I would leave forward armamant the same and replace aft beam arrays with cutting beams... that way I can hammer my target and drop thier shields faster than a drunken cheerleaders knickers and then finish the job with the cutting beams and torps

    I find the cutting beam to be VERY effective, but I have high accuracy on my own merit.

    Care to elaborate on this? I've been curious how well this weapon might work.

    I'm curious too. I just got one and...it's OK, I guess, but since it isn't compatible with any BOFF abilities, I think I might actually be losing average DPS by replacing a turret, since it won't be doing AOE through scatter volley.
