So anyone know how many BNPs we're going to need at tier 5? rep to buy shinies?

I know they said at one point a "token amount".

I don't by that for a second considering the way they treat dilithium. They say in one breath they want to make it easier for everyone to get dilithium and then turn around and say you should be able to max out with 4 hours of play every day...it's a pure farming fodder.

10 BNPs = 1 Mk XII shield/deflector/engine (MACO or Omega)

10 isn't so bad. If you do ISE once a day maybe, and got a conversion crate, you'll have enough for three, maybe four items by the time you hit Tier 5. More than that if you do STFs reasonably often.

The rub here is the conversion crate players. Those of us who played the old STFs to death have these HUGE conversion crates waiting for us to open.

But the very fact that we have like 2000 Omega Marks and 15 BNP in our crates means that we likely already have complete ground and space sets from the old system.

So, beyond getting the set previously available only to the opposite faction, what will there be at Omega Reputation Tier V for us to spend our Marks and BNP processors on that we don't already have?

10 is a lot better then i expected but out of interest, how do you know that? Was it mentioned in a post or what? do you know what are the other requirements?

unless there are a few other items like the console/weapons sets i imagine the main thing to do is convert them to dilithium.

its possible they could always released new items and tiers later on. the original plan was these sets were only batch 1, and new sets would be coming later. now that has not panned oyt but it could still be on the table.

    /does math

Bleh...that's 110 just to equip my ship with one set of 8 weapons and shield/deflector/engine.

    /does more math

that's 2 eSTFs a day from now until tier 5 opens and that's not counting what I'm sure will be a massive amount of dilithium required too.

Yeah, a source for that would be nice.

I don't think there are any generic ship weapons in the Omega rep. What you're paying for at Tier 5 is a Ship set and a Ground set, pretty much (unless you want the anti-borg ground weapons).

Someone else posted the patch notes, thankfully. I knew I'd read it either in a dev blog or in patch notes but I couldn't remember where.

Incorrect, 8 weapons will not require 10 BNPs each (Frankly I hate saying BNP, it's the name of a racist right-wing party in the UK and it makes my skin crawl)

I dont think there will be any weapons in the Omega rep system, but if there is, they won't require BNPs - I think we can be pretty sure of that :o

There is the Cutting Beam at Tier 2 and the Omega Torpedo Launcher at Tier 4 for space weapons in the Omega Reputation. The Cutting Beam cost 500 Omega Marks and 15,000 dilithium, but no Borg NP. Not sure if the Omega Torpedo Launcher will cost the same since no one is at Tier 4 yet. There are the Anti-Borg Ground Weapons Mk XII at Tier 3 and the Borg Prosthetics Mk XII at Tier 4, but both are ground weapons and I doubt they cost Borg NP as well.

Do we know if either of the reps will be giving us access to purple XII sci/eng/tac consoles?

You can look at all of the rewards listed at each tier, and the only consoles listed are the special faction consoles (like the Assimilated console).

Only the two new set piece consoles currently (one each for borg and romulan). There are new consoles (science I think) tied to the fleet embassy system though I believe.

Correct. The fleet embassy consoles have more than one benefit. The first benefit is it either raises or lowers your threat level so npcs are either more likely or less likely to attack you. The increase threat consoles are great for space STFs where you have a tank and want to keep the boss focused on them rather than taking out some of the more vulnerable members of the team. I forgot what the other benefits are since I don't remember where the dev post is and don't have a fleet at that level.

You shouldn't have had a "huge" crate waiting for you. This topic had been discussed for weeks before S7 went live...the conversion rate was poor. You should have cashed in most of your stuff for dilithium. I had a small amount of stuff to vendor...and got like 60k in dilithium...that same amount I had seen on tribble netted only 2k in that crate. Those who didn't cash in, screwed themselves.

well to be fair, if his example of 2k/15 is seeing his own crate then he didn't really lose much at all, and perhaps came out ahead. I got 250 marks and 1 BNP for a single EDC. I scored on that deal.

Well my crate has 25 BNP, 3000 Omega Marks, and 2000 Dil. It's huge enough for me. It's especially huge considering the amount of Omega Marks most things are listed as costing so far. Couldn't spend 3000 OM if I tried...

That really depends on how much you had converted.

After someone posted the actual conversion tiers, I managed to score about 35,000 Dilithium and still get the same amount of stuff in my Conversion Crate as I would have before.

Unless you used that chart, you really have little idea if you scored well or got ripped off.
