Gettin pulsewaved by a stealthed Tac

Ground PVP Eta Eridani Ground War.
I get Plusewaved by a Stealthed Tactical Officer.
He fired on me while he was in Stealth Mode. How did he do this?
Was this a cheat? Should I be supsicious?

    Or you could have alternately pm'd him (or her) and simply said , "hey , that was cool, mind sharing a few build tips with me or something."

    You know, instead of assuming he was cheating.

    That was a ground pvp tactical officer. I have one also and it does not let u fire ground weapons while in stealth mode.

    I have seen other toons not take damage when they get hit consistently.

    The final straw for me was when this particular player would pulse me and I would immediatley get a lag on my computer. And it only happend when this player hit me and no one else.

    I did some research on the net, and happen to know that there are bot programs u can purchase for this game. I will not list them and would not pay for them anyway.

    I also caught a player lying about an ability that he claimed was in a kit. I know that it was not. I had the same kit at one point.

    Not a cheat. You can't fire while using the operative cloak, you can fire while using the omega cloak.

    Players were accusing ea other of cheating for some time. One player told me he knew one who got caught and warned. So, I see this and thought I should ask. This puts me at ease. Thanks for the info.

    What about the players taking insane hits and no damage? A kit also?

    Hi Den3067, welcome to ground PvP, quite literally where true knowledge of it's game mechanics are restricted to less than a 100 people, I'd actually really go as low as 30 now due to Cryptics constant neglect. It is highly likely what you experienced is an optical illusion, brought on by lag or a "double-cloaking" technique which is possible with fine tuning a build and ability management.

    Considering that 99.9% of players do NOT attempt to flank in any ground mode, ignorance is to be expected.

    They fire as soon as they decloak. It's an exploit that pvpers have been reporting forever. Theyalso get a damage resistance as they decloak. A sci with tricorder scan can sometimes find them. But yeah, welcome to ground pvp.

    The problem you are experiencing has nothing to do with the cloaking. The Tactical ability "Stealth Module" and the Omega Force set bonus "Distortion Field" are a nice way to get behind a player to flank, but they aren't what causes the oneshots. Before season six, it is almost impossible to kill a player in one shot unless their shields were low or if they had bad armor. Then season six came bringing the cryo pulsewave, which deals cold damage. Currently there is NO armor providing significant resistance to cold. The solution to this isn't to nerf stealth, because players can get behind a player even without stealth. "Cats" can simply jump over your head and shoot you in the back. What needs to happen is the pulsewave "archwave setting" needs a major nerf. I don't believe cryptic ever intended for it to kill players in one hit.

    As for the reason the players appear to be taking no damage.... Distortion field grants a +40 all energy damage resistance for 15 seconds, which is why they appear to be unable to take damage. The Omega set also grants a passive dodge chance, reducing damage. The easiest way to take them down is with a shield stripping weapon. I would say the science ability tac harmonics, but that was broken with season seven...

    A player shrouded by the Jemhadar 2piece bonus can also appear to be attacking from cloak.

    One thing I noticed is why the original poster posted this here rather than pvp forum? Probably doesn't matter as Cryptic doesn't care about either section. Also Science can give illusion of being perma cloaked if you let them in close ;)

    One shots can be done by lots of things using a tac...try fire on my mark, target optics,
    Battle strategies, ambush can be activated while under operative kits stealth module, and using a good sniper rifle from a flanking position. Most of these can be run as a single function if the player has a keybind setup. And all give a plus dmg bonus of 16-60% per ability if iirc.
