Hi all, i tend to level alts through farming and doff missions so right now i have a blank level 45 science alt ready for points.. Now my issue, i have never made a science officer and am blind to quality builds.. After searching i know sci is a tricky build to do, other then that i am having alot of trouble coming up with quality info. Anyone who can link my a sound science build, it would be greatly appreciated!
What i am looking for.. I tend to pve and pvp both, looking for something tricky that can do a bit of damage and heals both. I guess something even and all around sound.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
OK a Beam Overload build will work far better with an Eng than a Tac or Sci. But since that build doesn't use Beams not relevant.
I use that build on my Sci it's fantastic.

Well, in the class on the build page it says tactical captian.. Plus theres a few points in there that just dont do anything for sci, like attack patterns. You might read through the thread itself, theres a few points in there.

The goal with beam overload is burst damage.
This puts a Tac as the top choice to maximize that damage, followed by Sci who can at least use Sensor Scan before hand and followed last by an Engineer that at best can mitigate the Weapon Energy drop.
You pay the same -50 to weapons regardless of how much damage you do.
I'm currently building an intrepid power siphon build myself. Running 2 polaron beam arrays up front, 2 polaron turrets aft, 1 chroniton front, 1 photon aft.
This is going along side the Power Siphon ability and Tyken's Rift 3. I may be going for the breen set as well to get another power siphon from the set bonus, not sure yet as the shield has low hp compared to say, aegis.

is that you can't properly teabag your defeated opponent

If you're going full energy drain Fed side, you'd be better with the Jem deflector over anything Breen (over three times the flow cap bonus). Grab the engines (which are actually fantastic and benefit a Sci boat that needs to switch to aux) and voila, you even have a two-piece flat polaron boost. Throw on a nice high cap shield (MACO, why not) and you're done.

It's the same with his Nebula build, but as an engi I still manage a cool 4-5k raw dps during a fight. :P
As a science officer, you'll actually pull off more damage than I can can due to your sensor scan buffing your torpedoes, though you won't deal as much as a tac officer. Just don't both putting any points into attack patterns to use elsewhere; you might wind up being more tanky so you're in the fight longer. Point being, the build is a great starting point to branch off of depending on playing style and captain profession.

Heh and I already have Jem hadar engine and deflector. Didn't think about the flow capacitor part. Thanks!

How is any build Captain Specific?

So you might as well do as much as possible.
