A friend of mine told me that you only get Episode 1 and it only gets you up to about level 20. Is this true or did my friend read some wrong in-game? Just wondering, cause I don't want to play and find out I have to sub right away at 20 or buy the remaining Episodes.
ALL PvE storyline content is Free To Play in this game.
You can go all the way from 1st to 50th Level.
Your friend is mistaken.
Saying "PvE" is both unnecessary and may actually confuse someone into thinking that PvP missions are not free. There is no need to say PvE or PvP when answering the OP's question, because every single mission in the entire game is free.
Thanks for the info everyone. So to sum up all Episodes and missions are free. I don't have to sub or buy them a la carte.
This is correct. There is nothing you actually need to buy to be able to play the game. There are a lot of cool costumes and ships in the game store, but none are needed to play. Furthermore, you can actually earn a special type of in game currency(dilithium) that you can trade for game store currency(zen), meaning you have a way to get the things in the game store withing actually buying them. Its really a pretty nice set up

IT's possible.
Storyline missions are indeed 'gated' by level.
In the Mission Journal you can find that specific information.

No. Episode 2 should be available right after Episode 1. The whole Klingon Front sequence of episodes is available prior to level 20.
