ok so I come home sit down and play STO... usually for a couple hours then all of a sudden I start getting "server not responding" and this keeps up for a minimum of 2 to 3 hours... at least until last night when it happened EVERYTIME I logged in... eventually I broke down uninstalled the game wiped every vestige of it from my hard drive... then defragged the drive and reinstalled it.... just in time to log in play for about an hour and a half and it started up again... logging out and rebooting did not fix my problem, Power cycling the modem and router did nothing to fix the problem either, contacting my ISP and there are no problems on thier end... I would really like to know why this is happening.... it has only started happening since season 7 and my purchase of the Vesta....

this is annoying to say the least.... anyone have any ideas on how to fix this ?

You're not the only one. If you look around the PC and Technical section, you'll find dozens of others with similar problems. You might be able to find help over there. But at least you can get into the game, I can't get past the loading screen. :(
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

I have been rubber-banding all day. I have also received the server not responding message more since the update. Last week I sent in a support ticket after I got disconnected from 2 different STFs, but of course PW blamed it on my connection. I play tons of online game and this is the only one I have ever had multiple disconnection problems with. I get disconnected from other games, but maybe once a month not 10 times a day like I do here.

Okay the tech part of me waht to explain why, but its like telling my 60 year folks, why the wifi wont work when the have the router next to a fish tank.

Rubberbangs, DCs, could be a number of things. On one hand it could be a bad switch on your providor side, or it could be something wrong in the ping path.

The fact you failed to provide a timeline of when it happens. IS this due to the isp you have is under peek stress, or are you playing with other things steaming in the background?

On the game launcher after you log in, but before you click "Engage", click Options at the top and check the box that says "Force Verify" and click OK. Wait for it to 'patch' then launch the game. What that does is forces the client to check all game files and fix any that might be broken. I had the same problem with rubberbanding, crashing, and disconnects after every patch and doing the "Force Verify" seemed to have fixed it for me. I now force verify after the patch is complete and before I launch the game every time now. So far I haven't had any lag at all since season 7 launched.

Just that even with the video options set to max, the same they were set to before season 7, the entire game looks like TRIBBLE as if all texture details in advanced video options are turned all the way down when they are actually all the way up. But it's manageable I suppose.

I get 'Server Not Responding' for at least 30-45 seconds on almost every map transfer.

I work in the networking field and I am not going to go into huge detail on why I know more then you or why gaming tech support people are paid minimum wage and send out canned emails all day long telling players how to reset routers.

My connection is 20 MBs down and 2 MBs up and when I tell you I only have problems with this game, I mean it. Yeah I could go and give you ping times every 10 minutes for the next week, but it is just a game. Like I told tech support it only happens on this game. I pay for this game and if it keeps happening a refund or charge back will be requested. Simple as that.

The OP asked if other people are having this problem, which they are as you can plainly see posted. I guess they didn't teach you how NOT to troll in your local A+ w/ Networking technical college class. If you don't have the problem no need to post.

This is what happens with each new MAJOR patch. And I would say a season change would count as such. It happened on the last few large patches they did, and they supposedly have been working on server stability. Hopefully they fix this, since I have been getting rubber banding like nuts in space too, and it's kinda annoying to fight with your ship randomly getting shot 20 km in a given direction on the drop of a dime.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Getting a few lag issues here too, just ran a traceroute and I'm getting 200+ ms lag at one of the Cogentco hops.

I know that PWE has had issues with this ISP off and on over...the past month or two. Taking a look at the path, it seems that the route goes up the east coast.

Might be residuals from the aftermath of Sandy, but I can't be 100% sure that's causing the issue. Ran a second traceroute, had a hiccup a hop out from my gateway but otherwise no issues.

*sigh* Anyone freaking know how to post a traceroute? I'm stumped.

Ok, I just tried the EU-Proxy... I'm unable to connect to the login-server.

Without Proxy I can play normal.

Why would you have 8gb ram with a 32bit OS?
A 32bit OS can only address 4gb and only 3.5gb or so will be useable.
