Character options wishlist: A recipe for halting the clone invasion!

- More hairstyles.

- Addition of two scar/tattoo slots. (I was looking at this and was surprised how many of the scars are canon. I tend to forget scars except when looking at an actor but Dukat flat out has three scars/blemishes. And all three are in the character creator. And of those three, only one is part of Marc Alaimo's face. In general, characters in Trek had more scars/blemishes than I remembered.) A lot of canon non-human characters had 2-3 scars as part of their makeup.

- More eye nose combinations. (At the least, "casucasian" eyes with a round nose and "asian" eyes with a sharp nose. Incidentally, Avery Brooks has the former while Patrick Stewart has the latter.)

- Non-movable scar-like details for the face. This would help differentiate Cardassians, Ferengi, etc. Just extra layers with things like a cheek definition texture, optional chin clefts, laugh lines without having to use a fully aged face.

- Body bulk slider like the Gorn have for other species. Let the Pakleds be fat. Let humans have ponch. Let Klingons have a blood wine belly.

Do this and people won't look like an inbred family reunion on DS9. Everybody looks too young and perfect as it is. (The only other realistic option being old and emaciated.)

    Oh... and a big one:

Eye shadow. Particularly for Ferengi and Vulcans. TOS Vulcans have eye shadow. Ferengi all have blotchy eye shadow not seen in game with Quark's being really pronounced.

Yay! I've been asking for this sort of thing for a while. Particularly new eye and nose shapes. That would fix so much of the "sameyness" of the characters. And it wouldn't be that hard as well. STO isn't that high ploy of a game, I imagine you could whip up half a dozen decent looking ones in an hour or two just by moving the points around.

If they really can't find the time to do that, I know my way around modelling software, they could always send me the basic head and let me experiment with it. :D

I would also like to request some sort of Non-Combat Expression sort of thing. Standing around by the exchange where everyone has the same expression on their face is kind of creepy. We already know that the Engine is capable of expressions anyway.

What would be really cool is if you could choose an in/out of combat expression. It would change up how the players look, and offer up some really cool characterisation possibilities! :D

While I agree that there need to be (a lot) more appearance options, in the dev's defence, I must say that most people seem to just choose from one of the 8 basic options and click 'start'. This, coupled with the armour visuals (that many people don't seem to know how to disable for a long time either) equals clone effect x 1000.

But, yes, I agree. I want many many more appearance options too.

Add the body slider for females as well, not just males develop a slight bear belly.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

    Very yes.

BioWare recently added moods to SWTOR and they have a ton more than Champions Online has. Why can't we have more moods in CO, and moods at all here?

I fully agree with everything you said!
I especially wait for more "head types" since start. Everyone looks the same in STO.

A big character tailor contend patch is long overdue IMHO.

I agree with everything said here and I would really really love more alien custom options too but the more variety the more lag the game will suffer so maybe be careful what you wish for. I think it is a bit silly having all these captains that look like 19 year olds it feels like the new trek movie or a Jerry Bruckheimer film.

In STO everyone is a teenager or a grandparent. :P

I fully agree with the desire for more character options. The costume editor has been badly neglected since the game was launched almost three years ago. Especially on the KDF side, where NPCs on Qo'nos walk around mocking us with costume pieces our characters can't wear.

Cheek bone sliders would do wonders for making distinctive faces.

Also decoupling the eye & nose shapes on the faces would be nice (i.e. have face 2 eyes & face 1 nose shape).

Good idea. While both sides need more options hair and clothing style... the KDF is the butt monkey in this regard.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

As a person of mixed race, I actually find it offensive that the "Asian" and the "Caucasian" features are separated the way they are. Peoples features exist more on a gradient of sorts if anything. Put eyes and nose shape on two different sliders, along with everything else.
Also, let women have flat chests if they want it. Big TRIBBLE are great and all, but I think the minimum size should be just as flat as a man's chest can be. Not every woman in the real world has big TRIBBLE. And actually, if I were gonna run around killing aliens, I'd wear a sports bra, which basically squishes your TRIBBLE down as far as possible so they don't go flopping around while you move.

You probably never used the character creator to see that there are sliders for eyes ,face ,nose and stuffs like that and there are no asian and caucasian features to be separated. There are humanoid 1 and 2.You call them asian and caucasian because you look for anything to offend you .

Okay. I'll refer to the settings as humanoid 1 and 2, just for you hun. Especially since you're right that the epicanthic fold which makes the "asian" eyes is also present in other races.

There's still no way to mix humanoid 1 and 2. Believe me, I've tried. I love the character creator and have spent hours on my characters and my boffs. I wanted to see if it would be possible to make a character that had both humanoid 1 and humanoid 2 characteristics and there isn't a way to exactly do that. You can kinda approximate but that epicanthic fold is just not reproducible. You have to choose humanoid 2 and there's no way to change the amount of fold your character has. You're only given two extremes in a gradient. Just stick humanoid 1 and 2 at two ends of a slider and separate their components so you can truly mix them.

I'm sure just sticking them on an easy slider would make fewer clones out there too. :)
