Seriously.. You stole all my borg salvage, locked it in a box I cant open till I've spent millions in EC trying to reach T3 for Omega? Freaking BS, that is such an insult. The Reputation missions are going to end up costing me weeks and weeks of casual play to regain where I was. With no dilithium drops, no random loot drops, no bonus drops in the missions, you have effectively cramped everyones play. Congratz.
You can not continue on this path of adding ever more bells and whistles, changing the game economy and style of play in every new season, and expect the player base to enjoy the game as they once did.
I absolutely hate the new reputation system, and even more so how it was implemented. We the players just get screwed over again and again. Tiered unlock systems are a scam, forcing players to buy zen and play in ways they dont want to.

Dont understand how the rep system forces us to buy zen? i thought the dilithium reqs were removed, they were tiny to begin with on tribble if i remeber regardless,...
besides, its not 'FORCING', you dont even have to look at the reputation system, if you want new fangled abilities/passive bonuses you can, if you dont.. then you dont
Dont think PWE/Cryptic is holdling a phaser to our heads

You need Dilithium to buy the weapons. I heard that there are no space weapons in the store Cant even confirm as we cant see it.
I was peachy till this change. Nothing about it has improved my game experience. Nothing about it has expanded my play in any significant manner. All I see are new ways for the game to eat resources out of my pocket to REGAIN access to stuff I previously already had access to.
That is the definition of a Fraud
As for Zen/Dil connection.. If you can only grind Dil from content you hate to do, you only other recourse is to buy it with Zen.
Dont understand how the rep system forces us to buy zen? i thought the dilithium reqs were removed, they were tiny to begin with on tribble if i remeber regardless,...
It doesn't force you to buy Zen, just stops your character's revenue from the supposed end game content by removing drops and dilithium reward.
besides, its not 'FORCING', you dont even have to look at the reputation system, if you want new fangled abilities/passive bonuses you can, if you dont.. then you dont
If you want to compete in end game content, which is surely the point, then you have to spend in order to take full part at a level those you're playing with deserve. Enforced spending is perhaps a little excessive, but it's certainly not enticing spending as any good development would.
Has anyone else noticed a certain class a player showing up to defend these shameless acts of greed? I have, both here in the forums and in-game. People who defend corporate greed with greater and greater zeal the more out of control it becomes. You know them, both "in-here" and "out-there." They rave about "freedom" as though the measure of that were the powerful's ability to exploit others without complaint or interference.
They are the little rich kids you see spitting on homeless veterans and telling them to get jobs. They are the vulture real-estate agents who sweep in on foreclosed homes. They are the stock traders who sow chaos and misery for a few extra pennies they will never notice.
I have been a game-modder for over 15 years and during that time I have noticed a clear trend in the gaming industry toward rampant greed, scape-goating, and demonization (Mega Upload anyone?) It happened in publishing, it happened to films, it happened to music, and now it has happened in video games:
The industry is pioneered by artists, becomes profitable, and is then usurped by the most mindless, soulless beast on Earth: the bean counter. And its not just in creative endeavors linked to commerce either. Every surface has an add plastered on it. Neil degrass Tyson notes in his book, Death by Black Hole, that a major financial company once called him to inquire how they might project their logo on the moon.
All art has been replaced by advertising; all culture with commerce. The direction this game is going in is indicative of the same sickness that permeates human civilization today: Pathological and self-destructive greed.
Not sure about it being a fraud but it is certainly trying to force folks to buy extra inventory in the store. The amount of stuff they hope we will keep in the hope of getting a single extra mark is laughable. The Defera zone started this though with its consumables for its own crafting system.
We are seriously now at the point where we need to be able to BUY a crafting storage tab to hold all this junk being thrown at us (Particles (10), samples(24), rocks(4), neural borg stuff(3), flower (1), cortexes (1), dilithium chunks(2)).
Maybe a few more I have missed for sure as not sure what high level Reman stuff needs.
I was already at a point where I was outfitting my 2 new toons when everything changed. My main has basic Omega set and the Borg set, I was saving up for the unique DOFFs on that one. The other two were just getting started to gathering just the borg set. Now all that effort is for naught, now starting over, having to buy or collect a vast amount of trivial krap.
Trivial krap I need for my Starbase, or Embasy, or the next stupid thing they throw at us as something new and shiny to distract us form the fact they are robbing us of our ability achieve in a smooth and expected fashion.

Been here since day one and dont think I have ever said anything negative. That does not mean I have whole-heartedly agreed with all the changes but I do realize Cryptic is trying to make a buck and I am ok with that, heck I hope they all make millions.
That being said this new rep system that I need to grind in an effort to be effective or the most effective I can be is not cool. I am normaly excited to play Trek and I ussually play for too long each night, but last night without the loot drops and running around buying commodities for the rep system just turned me off. Hate to say it but if cusomer opinions matter, look up my agreeable post history and realize that even the non-complainers have concerns.
Good luck and live long and posper.
In defense of season 7 I have yet to try any of the romulan zones, just the romulan/reman fleet actions.
Last thing I would say is I prefer content above the U.I. systems like fleet starbases, doff system, rep system.....
Well i still have my borg stuff but i agree i hate the reputation system. And it churns out lots of ec but i usually sell my reources (which i have tons of and never use) for qiuck money. I would have rather had new episodes though.

They effectively force you into the rep system by taking all the items you already earned and locking them into the omega box. Now you are required to re-earn access to what you should already have access to! You already spent the time and effort to earn the items to begin with!

I think you're possibly mis-ascribing political motivations to profit driven ones.
Cryptic's current and former staff has always included a surprising number of socialists, as is often the case in gaming. (Socialists and libertarians are both over-represented in the tech sector.)
John Layman is pretty open about his politics. You can find the blog of Jesse Heinig, where he discusses economics and he's certain NOT Austrian or Chicago school and he helped design the dilithium economy. I won't get into what their politics are here since this is a gaming forum.
Wanting all the money they can get (and I sincerely think they spend every penny back on the game that they can) doesn't preclude having different political stances and I think you'd actually see a few devs complain that their tax bracket isn't taxed highly enough.
I'd suggest looking more at how efficiently the money that is reinvested on the game is spent (and that's a fair argument where Cryptic could improve) and how ethically and painfully the money they gather is collected (again, fair argument). The political argument is offbase, I think, and more to the point, off-topic for the forums.
I don't know if you notice but I'm a fairly wide swing voter when it comes to how Cryptic does things.

Regardless of which side you support in this topic, this is one of the most thought out and carefully considered posts I've encountered. Highly impressed and appreciative of your input.
I think this is far better than before, you unlock new weapons and great stuff that normally requires you to do a load of stupid stuff to get
It still requires you to do loads of stupid stuff.
For example, the special Console you can get at tier 2 romulan rep. Requires 15,000 dilithium and 500!! Romulan Marks.
Thats at Tier 2! I guarantee you wont be able to get a single "endgame" item without doing "loads of stupid stuff".
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking having to do Azure Nebula Rescue 25 times just to get enough marks for this one item is excessive. Then you have to do 16 STFs to get the dilithium for it. Damn thats a lot of work for one console that frankly isnt very good.
Totally agree and now that there are no drops of any kind at the end of a stf, they just seem to feel 100% less rewarding to do. However my biggest issue is those frigging omega boxes trying to sell back to me what I already earned.

S7 has failed and failed miserably. What the devs and the heads don't understand is customer service comes first. Being a F2P game I can understand that some devolpments will take time and that's okay. How ever the need for money is killing the game industry. this last move has made STO P2W and EA is planning C&C to be a F2P. 2 great franchises torn down by greed and stupidity.

I found a problem with the old system with omega. Your a new player, and introduced to the omega missions. But you gear is at best MK X Rare. you are going to have hard time fighting. But at least the old system you have a chance to upgrade to Very Rare gear and be up to par with everyone else. Now you have to wait to lvl 50 before you can build your reputation. and then have to Build it before you can buy MK XI Very Rare gear. Which also defeats the purpose to have Mk X Very Rare, because you are a lvl 50 and can have MK XI, SO whats the point of keeping any of the MK X gear if you can use it? At lvl 50 i am not goin to have MK X gear for my ships or persons. Might want to reconsider having lower ranks 44 and up to 49 to let them build their reputation. maybe then they can claim the MK X Very Rare.
I point this out cause i have multiple characters and my last one is lvl 44, with borg tech and one Phaser beam array MK X, and i can not build reputation until lvl 50, I was happy to get the borg gear before the change over. I wish i had heads up the it was changing and i would have used my salvage and data chips, i have alot built up for new gear on my other characters.
Maybe you should just unlock reputation teir 5 for current lvl 50 players. i been lvl 50 on them for better part of a 3 months to a year now. I think i have said my piece now.

In the many unread pages of the T&C there is likely a clause about having the right to change their game however they see fit, hence no fraud?
