season 7...(sad)

Well I definitly see why the new change has happened. Yea, good luck getting crystals now. trading crystals for zen was really my only way to get zen.

Now though, it is clear to me, the new change is to make more money. For people to spend money on zen.

Also , to not be able to reach my stf rewards till I get to tier 3 , which obviously will take a while, seems quite pointless to me.

Nope. I don't think I'm going to be bothering to even try and gather crystals for zen. There's no hope, what-so-ever.

Before the chance was slim to get many crystals, now its basically no chance.

I can understand the change. I mean why not ? People whom work hard on creating the game do of course deserve to be paid as we all do for working.

And I am glad that the game is free-to-play.

yet I can sadly say goodbye to the ship I was trying to save up for for 2500 zen. I give up.

Yes, this has made me sad.

tiers........Tiers???? What ever happened to make it to level 50????? and thats it?????

what ever.

Good luck with this game. I think it will drive more people away than drag in, if changes like this continue.

Though I have to say something positive. I like how you can change characters without having to log in and out. I am curious to see what the new romulus looks like, but I am so sad that I won't be able to get the ship I wanted so badly and have worked so hard for.

"live long and PROSPER"....and prosper some more....and more....and more..... as indeed seems to be the aim.

    I agree with you totally.

But some companies get new management, or new shareholders, and have to act accordingly. Clearly they weren't happy with revenue streams and have acted to increase them.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to most efficiently turn my characters into fleet base projects for my mates before I leave.

Yeah, S7 means for most players either less time to spend on STO or leaving the game completely. For me its the first choise, for few days maybe.:(

I am a student having 6 average free hours a day. With the previous system I could get with luck both my toons to daily quota in 4 hours just playing elite STFs, then either leave and do school stuff or enjoy something else in game, like Doff missions or replay story missions. Thanks to STF loot I could get decent amount of credits by selling good stuff like purple MK 12 weapons, personal armor, etc., or discarding it at vendors. So I now have to do Fleet Actions that reward 2 purple gear for 1st place, 2nd gets one purple I think, one blue for 3th and rest gets one green item. But how am I supposted to get decent ECs to buy stuff like consoles, when only thouse speced for DPS get the best by winning the 1st place? Running time gated Tour? I can get to it max four times a week. Selling doffs? Grind dill for both fleet + reputation stores, base + embassy construction and newly for doffs reassingment, that will drop random and mostly useless doff (if atleast we could select department...)? I used that only from time to time, so not such a big deal it got more expansive. Crafting? No thanks. This will mostly hurt only normal players with max 6 toons that play the game for fun. These grinders already have a lot of dil and ECs, because they play since the game started.

Since I started in February I was putting aside some from my pocket money so I could around Christmass buy Life-sub. But I keep experiencing decryption errors sometimes three times a week sometimes only one in three weeks. But its annoying to delete .hogg files, reboot and force verify the whole game if it crashes in a middle of a STF. Since September I keep getting issues after patching. Force verify mostly helps but sometimes I had to reinstal the entire game which take several hours. Thats why I decided not to pay any money until serious issues are fixed. As I read the forum some bugs are still here since Beta, not a good sign.

They need more money? Fine, they just have to listen to players community, dont do things that force players to only grind, make new story content atleast every 6 months (Klingon side lacks a lot of content), make things to make ppl feel they are getting what they spend money/time for etc.

For PWE/Cryptic: Remember, that happy customer returns and will spend money in your shop, in this case keeps paying monthly sub or buys Life-sub and buys zen. But make him angry and he leaves and will never return. I study business economics so I know that company must earn money, but still there is a certain line (I like to call it The Line of Greed and Decline) that can't be crossed without accepting to lose customers. Many companies went out off business because they crossed that line.

So besides that great dil AND EC/loot nerf of STFs (thats the biggest issue), having only 1k of dil per 5 or 10 (not sure now) processors and a bit that doff reassingment being more expansive, S7 is good in my eyes. But still the negatives outcome possitives.

Sorry for grammar, english is not my native language.

    Hi tomasd1988 and all,

Yea , I read everything you said, and totally understand and agree!!

us free-to-play people , (or least some of us), will save up money to buy things at times.

I know someone who didn't intend to spend any money ever , then they spent 10 dollars just a few weeks ago! cause they wanted some zen store stuff.

see? you are correct, the company needs to know, that to keep the flow of business of money going through (if that's what they are concerned about, and if so, thats understood), then they got to make people happy.

Myself, I had 600 zen saved up through exchanging crystals i'd get from stf missions. i was saving up for a ship for 2500, but after seeing the new changes, i gave up , and decided to spend 500 on the energy credit cap. so now i can save up 1 billion energy credits (god knows how), and hopefully afford a cool ferengi or jem hadar ship on the exchange some day.

tomasd1988, You said, that you had been saving up for a lifetime subscription, I think you are lucky . :) I wish I could save anything up for that!

Though the new changes have taken place, and yes I am sad about it, I am still going to keep playing the game, because since I too started playing in feb, (or around then, I don't remember), I have grown to love the star trek universe. I love it.

It's a world, its a universe of existence, which only happens in the dreams of those of us whom wish for a peaceful happy future, where mankind can truly put away their toys of hatred and anger, and instead embrace the absolute awe of all that is , and will be, in the universe to see.

Either way, I am sad yes, the stf missions are gone. Yet at least , so far, the game remains free-to-play, and for such a game to be, the creators do deserve support from those who can afford it.

Anyhow I could talk forever . LOL.

Oh and I agree bout how they should add new stories , episodes, and also expand the klingon side. I also think it would be great to create a few more factions. like the romulans, and the vulcans, and pretty much all the aliens. including borg. yet of course with that one , have less freedom to explore.

course i guess they could let a person be a borg queen or king.

    well take care friends.

    Aaron

    amahood,

I believe lots of players will agree with it too. I am not so lucky as you may think. My monthly pocket money is only 500 CZK (around 25$) and some from brigades and birthday. But anyway, the best way to show company that the line was crossed is in this case simple. Most subs and zen buyers will stop paying money for one month, simply go on strike.

I had around 7000 zen I earned in 6 months of grind and buy/sell on dil exchange. I planned to buy ships once there will be the 20% discount on everything or on ships atleast. But now, I am probably going to spend my free time elsewhere. Somewhere where is not such mega grind, less time to spend and still get better rewards for that time spend. I think I will try PlanetSide 2 or wait for End of Nations. These games have F2P model too.

It the meantime I will play other games I bought before.

I have spent $700 on this game between a lifetime sub for 200 and the the other 500 on lock boxes. I have received NOT ONE rare lockbox ship. Yet when I log on to the game I find it so ridiculously over priced to use or aquire dilithium that I'll HAVE to buy more zen just to convert to dilithium if I need dilithium. I haven't donated to my fleet in over a week, and I hardly play the game now for more than ten minutes a day. I guess I'll log on atleast once or twice a week since I wasted money on a lifetime subscription. You know Cryptic... I paid a lifetime sub for the game as is. Atleast I could buy some zen.. an outfit, or some lock box keys. NOT HAVE TO BUY ZEN TO KEEP DILITHIUM STORES UP! You should have made ONE SMALL CHANGE, then surveyed it to see if it worked. Not TRIBBLE up everything in some way and tell us to deal with it. Not when some of us have payed you for a "lifetime" and spent hundreds of dollors in six months. You know... you don't have to appease us. And sure.. you don't have to have our permission when you do things.. But I'd sure as heck make sure you aren't going to absolutely ENRAGE your players and cause them not to want to play by changing things YOU ALREADY HAD IN PLACE YOURSELVES!!

Anyway, I may be so bored and/or sick of the grind that I do not play at all in a few weeks. I just wanted to let everyone here know once and for all. BUYING ZEN IS A WASTE. I tested the odds on boxes. 500 lockboxes = NO SHIP. You'd think they'd give you a guarantee after that many boxes you'd get to pick one ship. Cryptic will not get another cent from me. And I hope you are doing the math Cryptic 700 dollars in six months... good lawd I've paid you for about 3 years worth already. I'll be sure to tell everyone I see exactly how you run this game and do my best to keep them from coming.

    DOFFs - overpriced now
DOFF recruitment assignment = overpriced now
TWO reputation factions = tedious, time consuming, click click clicking
... and you must gather marks for BOTH factions
STF's = screwed up on loot now.
Starbase - now receive less from players because of the Embassy and TWO rep factions.

    the list goes on...
I'm out. Atleast if I watch Star Trek TOS - Kirk won't keep asking me for handouts for shoddy work!
