Getting a crash to desktop with "error decompressing files" every time I try to log in. This first happened when I tried to get to Tau Dewa, and then on a normal login attempt and a safe login attempt. I tried verifying files each time, and the patcher just seemed to hang.
Is it worth waiting and retrying the force verify tomorrow/Thursday, or should I just reinstall from scratch?
I've got this issue as well, load the launcher, it updated the new stuff then went to load it gets to the cryptic loading screen fine then goes to the ST badge after a minutes the game crashes no error message or warning as to why.

^^ Exactly what has been happening to Tribble for me for a while. And today, this thing manifested itself on Holodeck. I hope we get a fix soon.

This is a different issue. I actually got into the game, went to ESD fine, then tried to go via Regulus to Tau Dewa, but on going into Tau Dewa, I got a crash to desktop, with an error message. The game then wanted to upload a 1GB dump file to the servers, which I did. I then tried verifying files, then logging in normally, got the same crash. I tried verifying again and logging in safely, got the same crash.
I've been having similar issues since I updated to the patch right before Season 7. Constant resets to the patch connection, constant disconnects in game which are always followed by a crash to the desktop when I try to log back in. WOW, SWTOR, and GW2 all patch and play properly so I'm convinced its not my connection.
Windows is completely up to date and so are my graphics drivers.
Sometimes the crashes say its because of a corrupt pigg or sound file; once the pig was a texture file for the "tosmirroruniversesash." Sometimes I don't even get an error message, I just get the error handler asking to send a couple of gigabytes to their servers. The only responses I've gotten to my support ticket are help files on Jade Dynasty and "restart your machine and your connection."

The root cause of 'error decompressing files' is file corruption. To correct this problem you will have to find out why the file is being corrupted, as there are many things that can cause this...
Other programs (such as a Anti-Virus utility) can be locking the file, and blocking/corrupting writes
Disk Drive may be nearing the end of its useful write.
Memory Issues, under-volted, as many 'performance' RAM require higher voltage then the default 1.5 Volts. Also Overheated, or just going bad can cause the same symptoms
Corrupted libraries in the underlying O.S>
Determining the 'fix' is not going to be simple matter..
Thanks - I'm going to reinstall from scratch, I had a computer freeze-up in the middle of the patch last night so maybe something got screwed there... My computer's 4 or 5 years old now so it may well be gettin' old. Never had to reinstall Vista once... maybe it's time to do so?

This describes what I'm encountering precisely. I'm having the same problem and, despite attempting various solutions suggested on the forum, I can't figure out a way around it. The game will not load, I cannot play.

First time ever for myself, force verified, loaded into safe mode, at the moment I'm attempting to play on another machine, see how that goes.
Actaully, a thought occurs... has anyone been trying to use the Vesta?
EDIT: Played fine on the healthy machine, copied over the texture files to the other machine and fingers crossed it worked.
