Dear Devs, correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't the nacelles retract when in normal flight and not in space? Because Warp Nacelles have no influence outside of Warp Travel.

Not to mention it makes more sense that the nacelles are retracted in normal space as to prevent damage to the pylon mechanisms.

So in short:

Now: Retracted = Warp, Extend = Normal
Should be: Extend = Warp, Retracted = Normal

I thought they just folded up. I don't remember seeing them retract....

They only swing, not extend/retract. Like the Intrepid it swings upwards to warp out & in sector space.

In Regenerative Mode it flattens out on the horizon plane, and in Tactical mode they lower drop lower.

The bottom and top retract closer to each other when going to warp and in sector space. They swing up or down depending on combat mode.

There was an old Trek starship desgin rule I remember about the nacelles being visable if you look at the ship head on, if they retracted in normal space would they all be visable from the front?

The other rule was about port/starboard nacelles being visable to each other while in warp which is why they fold up in warp maybe.

    It's 8:30am and I haven't had my coffee yet so I hope I'm not blabbering gibberish. :o

Hm, actually I was wrong, they retract towards each other, and extend in length at warp... Even cooler. :D
