to hell with the Romulans

Why a Romulan faction i want a Tholian faction to play as i love there ships and they are just so different it would be great to play as them
anyone agree with me or am i alone in this?
am i the only one who wants to play as a crystal spider

    Are you alone? Probably not. There are usually always at least a couple of people that will agree to anything. But you are most definitely in the minority when it comes to not wanting a Rom faction.

    I want a full 50+ Unique PVE Storyline Missions KDF.
    I sure as hell know I'm not in a minority for that.

    Probably as many as want to play Klingons.

    Forget Klingons and Romulans! Let's have an Iconian faction, the real villains! :D

    I don't see any difference between Tholians. Its the same problem with having an Undine Faction. There has to be some way to distinguish members of a race to have a playable faction since players don't want to look the same.

    I dont know why cryptic doesnt use the foundry to get players to create those missions then tweek them and add them to the klingon faction

    it seems to me it would be very easy and cost cryptic very little to add a lot of content that way

    This game has a lot of very creative people in it cryptic should use them to make more content for the game

    the only reason i would play Roms is if i can be a Hirrogen and wipe war paint all over my face and go all predator on some poor Tellarties or Vulcans

    why would romulans and hirrogen be on the same team?

    I think there's a disconnect there. People want it. Heck, I want it if it's free or if it comes with lots of missions or things that can side advance my existing characters.

    How bad people want it, well... The numbers are lower. I'd wager it may be make or break for maybe, MAYBE 10% of players and another 10-15% would seriously check it out and consider a Romulan main.

    If someone asks me, "Would you like a Romulan faction?" My answer is "Yes!"

    If they gave me a list like the vote Stahl put up, it would be my third or fourth choice. I'm sure it would be many people's first or second.

    If you put up a list like this and said, "Which of these would you pay $60 for?" Well, a lot of people would say "None."

    And if you said, "If I gave you $60 in store credit and told you you could spend it on one of these things..." everyone would give different answers but I bet you'd see Featured Episodes and Klingon content trump Romulan faction in that scenario.

    I doubt Romulans will be dramatically more popular than Klingons unless they're better made... and I also think you'd see a fair number of Klingon players quit KDF to play a Romulan since I suspect a decent chunk of existing KDF players would have rolled ANYTHING that wasn't Federation as their main.

    LOL. No. It just isn't feasible if we can't even get a full KDF or Romulan. Mainstays in the Star Trek universe.

    I've thought of this as well. But Cryptic would have to, most likely, get the OK from CBS/Paramount to add said foundry content to STO as the content would technically become "canon". Also, the foundry content creator would have to be reimbursed monetarily somehow. This, above anything, keeps foundry material from appearing as regular game content.

    While Sela was in exile she made contact with them. In exchange for their support she allowed them to hunt in Romulan space.

    They have no intention of, and never will release, a tholian faction.

    Why? Lockboxes.

    Tholian goodies came in via Lockboxes. If they were to make a Tholian faction these would have to be turned into either freebies along with the faction or guarunteed Zstore purchases.

    This would ofcourse annoy those who spent lots of money on master keys and make them wary of making purchases for further lockbox releases.

    You've got about as much Tholian faction as Cryptic is ever going to give you, right now that's a lot more than Romulan fans have.

    Now, Tholians I'm not exactly in line for that, however; the Lockboxes are entertaining enough. /sarcasm.

    Honestly, though I think we're a far cry from anything but a disparate need to fluff up the KDF side a lot more. Dear God you'd think after nearly three darn years there'd be more content for them!

    I actually don't want to play a Romulan, but would love to command Romulan boffs, doffs and play along or against Tal Shiar. Am I asking/hoping for too much? I bet I am. :)

    Cryptic is kinda commited to Romulan content with S7, even if its non Rom PC content. What I do wonder though... is why no Tholian BOff yet? They have working tholian models, why not tie one to the boff system, give it stats, add a Tholian EVA suit and you're done!

    I don't see value in adding another faction when the KDF is still content light.

    well the adding of a new sector is clearly the start of them making a tom faction you will start off near new Romulous and explore out from there however i doubt that they will bring the faction out until like season 9 or so. the reason i wanted a faction like tholians is because they are so strange it might be nice to just play as something different lets face it the Klingons and the Feds are the same ships do pretty much the same things so weapons are the same so on. Roms will be the same but they bring something playable in totally alien it will give them a chance to make something truly different

    As cool as the Tholians are, they're not a major faction in Star Trek. The Romulans are.

    I don't see any value in the KDF while the Federation is still content light. :)

    Who is down for 3k people battles and openworld attack/defend on bases outside sector space
