Heavy Escort Carrier Build

Hey guys I am bored and could use opinions on this build. It is not focused for PVP, but I do subscribe to the idea that a good PVP build is universally good.

    I would put the torp point def unit in your grav generator slot... and run another phaser dmg unit.

    I assume you are running 3 Tech doffs for the aux to bat... I would reduce that to aux to bat 1... and then either run aux to sif 2... which is more heal... but is not effected in anyway by the aux to bat accept reducing the amount of aux power at some point if you are spamming it every 15 seconds.... perhaps try a RSP 2 instead... and use the aux to bat cool downs to keep your shield RSP happy. If you are using the tech doffs that keeps your EMTS 1 up 100% of the time... and your RSP drops to around 1 min cool down.
    If you are not running 3 purple tech doffs then dump Aux to Bat. For your other doffs I would go with 2 torp doffs seeing as you only have one launcher that should keep you firing torps pretty constant.

    This build wastes a lot of slots and bridge officer potential. Try to stay with one weapon type, and don't bother speccing for torpedoes. Torpedo point defense is generally worthless in the game atm.

    Can you elaborate? While I can understand your comment on Torpedo point defense, what you do mean stick to one weapon type.. there is only one type Phaser. I can see pulling the Photon Det. XI (V. Rare) for another Phaser console I was trying to boost the photons due to using both the torpedo and the Torpedo point defense console but if I dropped the console ya it would be pointless.

    @husanakx I kind of have a hate for RSP lol dunno why but I do. Don't run any Doffs for the Aux to Batteries, I was just something to boost my weapons and shields when not actively healing. Any else you might recommend besides RSP?

    Tac consoles are better spent buffing your primary weapon damage type, which I'm assuming is phaser cannons on your escort. In the current version of STO, torpedo damage is no longer worth the ammount of skill points that need to be allocated into it in order to make it a better alternative to running all phaser type weapons. Remove the point defense torpedo turret and replace it with another phaser console and move the point defense turret to another slot and replace it with a phaser console and possibly remove all torpedoes from your ship setup and your damage burst and sustain will increase substantially.

    Ahh now I follow what you are saying..

    I may be outdated but I always thought torps still gave better spike then a single extra cannon. I will play around with removing Torps completely and see what it does to my damage.

    I agree... kind of. Point Defense systems and all other "Ability" type consoles are kind of a joke to most of the experienced PvP people out there. Imagine what else you could have in that slot that's always active, always helping your ship! Filling a console slot with a 5 minute ability is just ridiculous in my humble opinion.

    They do give very nice spike hits, but landing them on hull is the tricky part. Even a sliver of shields deadens even the hardest torpedoes.
