This is addressed to people who work for Cryptic or Perfect World. Do I have to curse somebody out or call somebody names before a Forum Moderator reads a thread or post? Since the main page switched over from Cryptic to Perfact World, there is no longer a "report post" button. If a person hounds my threads, and constantly bashes me and other posters because they think they are a better person than us, is that worthy of your attention? You say the we should respect other's opinions and don't personally attack others but you let it go on till one of the posters explode with profinty. Do I have to get really ugly before you realize that a fight has been provoked. Moderators need to moniter threads, not just looking for profanity, but also see if a person is stalking another using phrases that try to make one person feel less of a player or person. Profanity is spoken after the fight has started. Maybe you need to look at the bashing that leads up to the fighting.

Doesn't cover everything that's against the forum rules. To report forum violations, you're supposed to use the ticket system... which doesn't work because it has an endless loop error. So they say to email them. But email can often be glitchy or laggy, resulting in violations remaining on the forum for several days.

So you can PM a moderator, but that's no guarantee of anything being done either.

What we need is a proper report system that takes a screenshot of the post/topic in question and puts the report in a queue. It also needs to log - where all staff members can find it - how many warnings each user has, how many reports each user has against them, how many reports each user has made, etc. Ideally you'd have a queue for each forum, but we don't have enough moderators for that to work.

First of all you need to put this thread in Feedback not f2p Q&A.

Second of all back off mate, the Moderators around here do a great job with all the TRIBBLE they have to put up with and its a VOLUNTEER position they do not get paid and sacrifice a large amount of their gaming time to moderate forums.

For some reason people seem to think been a Mod/Admin is some great and glories privilege when its not at all especially when theirs people such as your self winging about their unpaid work because you feel hard done by in some way.

Perhaps you should Volunteer to moderate a forum and see just how much of a pain in the rear end it is. I used to Admin and run a large ISP forum and game servers and you simply don't have time to read every thread and every post and do rely on others reporting others most of the time.

Then theres the fact Moderators can't actually respond to your pm's they can act on it but they cannot tell you.

Just a few things for you to think about before you go on your next forum mod bashing run.

    Moved to General Feedback...

In regard to the OP, we do try to keep an eye on things. As a Volunteer I can't be in the forum all day every day. I'm not sure I'd want to; it's a tough job and sometimes the tone can get you down.

Also, all I can do is issue warnings and remove posts that violate the rules. I can not issue any infractions. If the offense is severe, a ticket will insure that the poster is dealt with in an appropriate way.

I can totally relate to your frustration about the missing 'report post' feature. All I can say is that it's a known issue and I think it's one they intend to correct.

In the meantime, you can use email to contact Customer Support. customerservice@perfectworld.com. You can try sending a PM to a Moderator, but as mentioned we can't reply to any PM's regarding Moderation. Also, we aren't obligated to follow up on PM's but I do try to do that when I can.

The important thing here is that users should never directly respond to an offensive post on the forums. You may, and should, report it with a request to Customer Support.

    Done.

As a favor to a poor, overworked Volunteer Community Moderator, could you please edit the rest of your post to make sure you are not responding in an inflammatory way?

I'm grateful that some people understand that it's a thankless job, but I'm afraid that strong language will only aggravate the problem we're trying to avoid.

    Thanks!

For the purpose of this thread, let us understand the context: a player/poster (Baudi) said Alexindcobra was wrong.
Alexindcobra, in turn, called him "a jerk".

Now, I don't personally believe in the taboo over some innocuous work (nor in the necessity of forum "moderation"), but I thought it amusing that the individual asking for censorship is the very individual that uttered a "cussword".

Okay, I think this has gone far enough now.

I'm closing the thread before it gets really ugly. Some users might want to go back and edit some posts.

    1. For future reference please remember that it helps a great deal when posts which violate the PWE Community Rules and Policies are not responded to and are reported via submitting a Forums and Website Ticket (click here).
    2. If you think any of your posts within a thread have violated the PWE Community Rules and Policies, please edit your posts before a moderator takes action.
    3. If you feel you need to get in touch with PWE BranFlakes to discuss the actions taken by any Community Moderator, you can do so by submitting a Forums and Website ticket (click here).
