I have one and I love it, but I have an unusual build on that ship that could only be done with the Lt. Cmdr Engineer BOff (which is rare/unique on escorts). I generally use the hangar as an extra shield defense, so it's not a real carrier for me.

So, my choice was because of the Engineer BOff. Do you have a specific reason for wanting it?

I put an engineer into my Armitage (actually I used the Akira skin because I hate the Cryptic Akiras) and I'm having tons of fun with this ship.
It's probably not the perfect setup when you want to dish out tons pf damage but this ship is pretty though in Elite STFs.
Strangely enough I had great success in this ship using the Breen set until I had a chance to switch over to MACO probably becouse even though she's engineer-heavy (for an escort) the Armitage is still no cruiser so her hull is a bit soft.;)

The only issue for me with this ship is that I can't throw my precious gravity well at my enemies. I run 3 phaser dhc and one quantum torp in the fore and after I have 2 beam banks and a tricobalt mine. I am a tactical captain and generally not fond of the pets, I am considering the defiant but there is something about my Armitage that stops me.
A contract is a contract...(but only between Ferengi).

This is probably one of the best PVE ships available in-game right now. You absolutely cannot go wrong buying this ship, it will serve you for a really long time to come.

I have an engineer in it too, and I'm also using the Akira skin. I like the Thunderchild skin, but the regular Akira is one of my favorite Trek ships.

Right now, I have the advanced delta flyers in my hanger. They seem to work well in STFs.

I was thinking more about how would you use the things that make this ship unique -- you might like the idea of having pets without committing to those slow-turning carrier ships; or perhaps you feel a little squishy in an escort and want EPtS3 on your build. Both of those are good reasons to buy the ship.
