InGame Video Recording

Hey All,

I was looking to make a trailer for my fleet but need some advice on a decent program that I could use to record videos in game. Currently, I have Bandicam installed but I'm still getting familiar with it.

Also, how are people able to make it look lik their camera always focused on their ship or doesn't include the HUD ?

I appreciate any help!

For best results, when recording action during a game, I use a free program that works great, it's called hypercam. You can find hypercam at www.download.com , or simply by using google.

The people doing recordings without the HUD are probably using the demorecord command:

Thanks! I've played around with demorecord a little bit now. How are people able to fuse two different scenes together?

For example, I want to make a scene where it begins inside of our starbase and everyone is looking out the window at a battle (fleet alert). Then I want the camera to appear like its panning through the window and resume with footage from a fleet starbase defense.

I'm pretty sure I can just make 2 seperate recordings and merge them into a seemless scene. I'm stuck on how I'd get the battle to show up through the window while still in the starbase. I've seen people do it in trailers before... just wondering how!

Yeah. Can't be done in game. Will require advanced video editing. Chroma key, most likely.

It involves creating a "mask" for where the second video will show up. You'll need something like Sony Vegas to do the editing.

Also: Hit Alt+F12 in game and you can disable the UI. I play with the UI off sometimes to get footage more quickly.

I tried hypercam and it doesn't work as good a Fraps.
