The hull says "U.S.S. Enterprise" on the saucer, towards the lower-right corner of the shot :)

    Cheers,

I can see U.S.S. ENTERPRISE barely just above the saucer section hangar deck. Kinda hard to read but it's legible

Great screenshot! Really captures the heat of battle. I hope Captain Shon has a few powers off cooldown to deal with that incoming plasma torp.

I've never noticed a Borg cube ingame with a Sphere hatch before (since the revamped textures last year). Thats neat.

I've just played a foundry mission where a sphere appears after the explosion of a Cube, but it would be amazing if launching a Sphere pet could be an NPC Cube's special ability.

I find that an unused tractor beam works best for borg plasma torps, it never misses :P

Wait, is that the entire Enterprise-F, or just the saucer section? It CAN separate you know, even though it usually stays behind you.

Hey, stranger things have happened :D

    Still, great pic, truly :)

Captain Shon wasn't even able to deal with a handful of Dominion ships even when he had fleet support present, so I doubt he'd last long against a Borg cube. When it comes to picking the most incompetent Enterprise captain ever, it's hard to choose between him or John Harriman.

Is it possible to make all the beams fire from the saucer. It really looks stupid when it comes from the warp nacelle.

Looks good, but what are the pair of red beams coming form the Cube? Last time I fought the Borg they were using plasma weapons with lime green antiproton style beams.

Also what are the red 'slit' things on the saucer?

Agreed, they look semi-ok if firing from the lateral side of the nacelles or the pylons, where you'd expect beam arrays to be. But when they fire from the tips of the nacelles, especially the aft tips, they look silly, more like beam banks rather than arrays?

Those are coming from the Enterprise not the cube, those are anti-proton dual beam banks on the front of the ship.

If you turn off the paint on the nacelles or change it to a bright color, you can see the phaser array on the Odyssey's nacelles.

Hm, you know, I never thought to use tractor beam on torpedoes--usually I think of a tractor beam pulling targets TOWARD me, which is not something that I would want to do with explosive projectiles.

Hey, Harriman was under a lot of pressure (first time command, media coverage with audience, AND a handful of living legends) the one time we saw him. Puts a lot of pressure on anyone. And by accident, Kirk 'died' on that first flight, which had to sting.

Captain Shon has been featured just as little, so we don't know his true competency.

So really, don't judge them on what we do know, when there's so much that could change that. Give them a chance, in other words.

My mistake, though their spacing looks strangely narrow (relative to ship width) compared to other ships I have used DBBs on. The only time I recall seeing spacings that narrow is on the TOS Costitution and NX-01.

Also regarding beam array visual effects, if you have the graphics settings on max level, do you see the energy travel along the array then leave at the periapsis, like they do on the show? Until I get a new computer I can't venture beyond low-medium settings.

Good to know :) I like having them visible, but usually outfit my ships in the darker hull materials/colours.

Nice picture :), it looks like the F has two or three beam arrays and one dual beam or is that cutting beam/s coming from the cube?

That red beam is the cutting beam of the Borg Cube. Starfleet usually doesn't employ antiproton beams.

They should as a Antirproton beam IMO is a lot more effective against the borg.
