Ok bit of a noob sounding question.

Forum search is U/S, so please...

I'm Tactical. (Level 50) I have my Borg Boff, (Engineer) it's none tradeable.

I'd like to get my alt character that's a lvl 50 Eng. to train my Borg Boff in EPtS3.

I can't send the Borg Boff to my Eng. How do I do this training.

Thanks in advance...

Can I thank Crptic/PW for their patch:

If the BOff is bound (not tradeable), the answer is - you can't.

If the BOff is not bound, you need to remove all the equipment - armor, shields, etc - and set up a face-to-face trade with a trusted friend who has the ability to train the BOff in the skill you want. They train in the skill, then trade it back to you.

A couple important notes: They also have to have an available assignment slot in which to hold the BOff, if not they cannot accept the BOff at all. And, neither of you can have a BOff who is higher than the level below you. For instance, you can't trade a captain BOff to someone who is only a captain level. Conversely, a VA cannot train up a BOff from lieutenant to captain for a lieutenant commander player. The LC will not be able to accept the trade back.

You cannot have one of your alts directly train another one of your alts' BOffs, although you could do a multiple trade if you really have to - trade the BOff to a friend, log out, log back in with the proper character, accept the BOff in trade, train it, trade it back to the friend, log out, log back in with the original character and accept the trade back from your friend. Rather convoluted, but it can be done with a patient friend/fleet mate.

    Hope that helps.

Boff's can only go up to Commander in rank, not Captain. Other than that the advice is sound.

You can't train non-commissioned BOFFs and you can't trade/sell commissioned BOFFs, so I never understood how this method was supposed to work.

You can trade commissioned BOFFs that aren't bound (i.e. pre-order Borg Engineer, FE BOFF rewards, etc). But you much strip the BOFF of ALL equipment. And you can't trade a BOFF to a character that it cannot ordinarily have it. (e.g. You can't trade a Commander ranked BOFF to a Lieutenant ranked Player).

Only way to train the bound Borg in a high level skill you can't get from teh starbase trainer is to find a non commissioned Boff with the right skill.
You need a bit of luck for that and it might turn out expensive.

They can actually, the person who wants their boff to be trained can have one of yours while you train theirs and then just swap back.
