Hello. Ive been playing sto for about 2 months now and am still learning and experimenting. Was wondering if tac officers do well in a science ship or if theres somthing particular you have to do/equip/boff/ to be very successful. I play mostly pve. Any help would be apreciated
Hmm tks. was wondering if theres any advantage or build that works particularly well with tac? If theres nothing special ill prolly just roll a cruiser or excort :P
well.. having extra sci slots would be helpful.. but, again this is just my opinion, to make good use out of those skills you need to train your captain in them... which would take away from areas of tac ability.
If you go by this thread http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=374211 your attack pattern alpha and the like effect things like feed back pulse. I'm sure if you listen to their complains you can get some good ideas.
That was a good read. But where do i find/train my boff in photonic shockwave and gravitywells ? I cant find any skills that allow a tac officer to train in those...
Spam up ESD chat for BOff training requests until one of the busy Science Captains in the game takes it upon him or herself to make your Gravity Welling and Feedback Pulsing dreams come true.

You can also buy BOFFs from the Exchange that have those abilities, and use them to train existing BOFFs.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Edit: Been playing awhile now with an intrepid sci ship and love it. It has to be one of the more powerful combonations (tac+sci ship) im glad you guys convinced me

Matching your career to your ship has some nice benefits.
There are other schools of thought on this of course... so if it makes you happy to fly a sci ship as a tac... then go for it.
