When you visit your bridge and go to the crew area, in your lounge/ten forward, the Bartender has two missions ("Pour a Drink" and "Special Reserve") that can help you get rare drinks you may need for the bartending chains (Romulan Ale and Klingon Bloodwine), why not have something similar on the chef that give things like Livanian Beet and Klingon Octopus... maybe call them "Make a Snack" and "Special Delicacies"... maybe even add a 3rd called "Dietary Needs" cause their are more items needed for the Culinary Credentials Chain then are needed for the Extreme Bartending Chain.
And it isn't like these missions can be done constantly anymore. I can Pour a Drink maybe twice a day (I think it has a 20 hr cool down), and Special Reserve I can do maybe 3 times a week if I'm lucky. Why not have similar missions, for cooking to help out on those. I'm sitting on all the items I need for "Prepare Kalandra Sector Surprise" except the 2x Livanian Beet, because S6 messed up replicator permissions and no one sells them on the exchange. It would be nice if there were multiple ways to get a COMMON item. It isn't like it is Uncommon, Rare, or Ultra Rare, shouldn't there be Common ways to come by them?

The issue with beets is they can't be bought... ANYwhere! You have to get them from random drops ATM.

I was able to replicate those at one point. You can buy them at Bajor, though.
No you can not buy them on Bajor. You can buy some of the other ingredients needed, but unless the Bajor buy was a fix added during the recent patch, then I spent hours going to every vendor on Bajor and DS9 with the Beet not being available at any of them.
