Possably one of the most historic figures alive today in regards to space travel has sadly left us today. RIP Neil...

I wonder if the next Cryptic ship class added to the game could be called the Armstrong class as a tribute to him.

Sad day for the world. :(

And I agree, be great if Cryptic could do somekind of Tribute. Like a ship named after him, an Apollo pet or Trophy.

I think an Armstrong class would be a wonderful tribute for one of humanity's greatest explorers. Make it so, Cryptic!

That's a good idea. He is too great of a national hero to just have one ship named after him.
It is sad that we are losing heroes of his generation. The people we admire today don't measure up. Remember, when he landed on the moon the instruments and computers on the spacecraft had less computational power than a graphing calculator today.

They should make a moon map with the landing side of Apollo 11 and a new memorial plague at Starfleet academy .

I think Cryptic shoud try to do something in his honor. IF Cryptic actually makes a ship, I think it should be a nice free-be to be honest. I know in Star Trek Armanda II there was an Intrepid Class named Armstrong.

I think if I change from my Odyssey I might name my next ship after Neil Armstrong.

It is a very sad day.

Yeah, an Armstrong class or even just the U.S.S. Armstrong would be an amazing thing to have in the game.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.

    R.I.P. Neil.:(

I say they make a statue of him and put it in Starfleet Acadamy with a dedication plaque to one of the men who have boldly gone where no man has gone before.

    Tumorboy, make it so!

I agree an Armstrong Class ship would work indeed. This is a sad day as he was one of the pioneers to Space.

This would be a great way for the game to remember him. Even a plaque mentioned him in the Academy would be good too.

Just last week I was trying to get a 1/6 Neil Armstrong after seeing some pics of it when someone mentioned wanting to use it as The Impossible Astronaut with a new 11th Dr. Who figure. I got outbid on ebay and now I see someone posting one for $400:( I wish I had won last week:(

I remember watching the landing while staying up late and eating my cake and ice cream after my birthday party as a youngster, it was the best thing ever:) Thank you for that memory Neil, and Godspeed.

I second that emotion! I remember as a kid watching the moon landing... one of the most awesome moments ever!

Didn't he punch one of those goofy nutjobs that claim the landing was faked a few years back when the idiot tried to confront him? GOOD JOB!

My family has a saying "Dance or Die"

This man danced among the stars, he will be missed.

I agree tho, we need a U.S.S. Armstrong flying around ESD as a tribute. Another poster mentioned making it a Luna class vessel, I agree with this as well.

    Make it happen Cryptic

Yeah, this would be relatively simple to do, as well. I second this motion.

I like the idea someone posted of making a map on the moon at the landing site. Also the idea of a Armstrong class ship has alot appeal but I am not as keen on seeing a U.S.S. Armstrong in orbit as it should be out exploring the great unknownnot maintaining orbitseems like it would take away from the legacy to me.
I suppose the only issue with the map would be if there is a lunar colony on the moon in which case make the whole colony map and place a statue on the site.
Peace be with you Mr. Armstrong

RIP Neil Armstrong a true world wide hero. Such a shame they cut the NASA manned space flight budget, still find money to spend on arms though.

A lunar site would be a great thing to do! Also, the Armstrong class, cruiser, how about a science ship? Add maybe an "explorer sensor console" that allows player to see EVERY ship in the entire map they are in instead of current 30Km. limit? Also, have it display the full ship info that one sees in combat, but at any range on that map and on the games space map on area level.

I agree it would be nice to see some kind of a tribute to him - an Armstrong-class vessel is a great idea.

Now excuse me as I log in and orbit the moon in Sol System a few times...
